Do you work away or travel a lot and struggle to keep your exercise routine going.  For a lot of people once you get out of a routine it is really hard to get back into it again.

So we have put together a few tips on how to keep that exercise going no matter where you are.

If you are travelling then try to walk around as much as possible instead of taking buses or taxi’s. You actually get to see a whole lot more as well as getting some exercise. A lot of cities now do bike tours or you can hire a bike and do your own tour.

If you are working away and are staying close to your office, why not try walking to work each day.

Try to stay in a hotel that has a gym or has access to one that is close by.

A lot of local gyms will be happy to offer you a free pass to use the gym a couple of times. Don’t forget you can always go to the classes they offer as well. You can also get a personal trainer even it is only for a couple of days.

If you can’t get to a gym then there are lots of exercises you can do in your hotel room:

  • Push ups
  • Sit ups
  • Plank
  • Dips
  • Mountain climbs
  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Star jumps
  • Scissor jumps
  • Cardio boxing (no gloves needed)

A resistance band is also light and easy to pack (and also not expensive to buy) and you can do more exercises with these as well:

  • Bicep curls
  • Shoulder press
  • Tricep extensions
  • Front extensions
  • Side extensions
  • Squats

A resistance band will add a little more to your exercise plan, if you are buying one make sure that you get one that is going to challenge you but one that isn’t too hard as you won’t use it if it is too difficult.

Just because you are away it doesn’t mean you have to lose focus – remember every little bit helps you stay Ontrack.
