Haha the breaks are cool that's for sure.

Week 5 Day 1
5 mins jog, 3 mins walk, 5 mins jog, 3 mins walk, 5 mins jog

Completed. Well OK so I was a bit naughty. I actually did 5 mins jog, 3 mins walk 8 mins jog (you see my 3 min walk song was We Are The Champions by Queen and I just couldn't walk to that) then 1 min walk and 4 mins jog. So still the same time overall just juggled the jogging time a bit. Everything went fine and I was pleased I managed the 8 mins with no soreness or muscle pains. Yayy. This week and next week every day is different so plenty of variety.

Hehe will have to put that into one of my playlists Kate.

I roam the streets like a wild thing! No ovals near work so it's all street stuff but I find lots of areas with grass. :D

Cheers Jody. :D

Week 5 Day 2
8 mins jogging, 5 mins walking, 8 mins jogging

Now what is shown above is what I was supposed to do but I had convinced myself it was something different and ended up doing a mish mash which went a little something like this.....

8 mins jog, 3 mins walk, 8 mins jog, 1 min walk, 4 min jog, 4 min walk, 4 min jog.

Anyway I got through it and was really pleased and legs are fantastic apart from silly blister I got on Tues at the gym due to threadbare socks. Will see how it feels for Friday but may need to push next day out to Sat.

They do Jody but just remember to take it at your own pace and repeat what you need to.

Weed 5 Day 3
20 mins jogging

Completed!! You little ripper, I did it! No breaks and did it all, felt great but 20 mins was enough this time around. That is the most I have jogged in one go ever so I am thrilled and looking forward to Week 6. I just realised also the program does include 5 mins warm up and stretching that I never mention above. I actually do a 4 min warm up walk so muscles are warm for the stretching, 4-5 mins of stretching and another 4 min warm up walk in case I have cooled too much before I start the progam listed above. I then usually do a bit more walking afterward depending on how much time I have. I then end with the same stretching routine of 4-5 mins that I did at the beginning. I am convinced it is the stretching that is ensuring my muscles are handling it and the reason I have not had that old calf problem once since starting this program. Me is one happy chappy! :D :D

Great stuff Kim - you'll be doing the 5km in about 30 mins in no time :D Isn't it great how quickly you can build your time and distance? Good on you for sticking with the program and paying special attention to the stretching side of things. I know I can get pretty lazy in that area.

Well I won't be doing the program today as I had a rough time last night and TTOM is giving me some trouble with a fairly sleepless night. Also my top lip feels the size of a golfball. I got a small cold sore that looked like it was clearing up only to wake up this morning with it all swollen. Grrr....think I am a little run down and need to rest more. So hoping to feel better tomorrow to start Wk 6.

Week 6 Day 1
5 mins jog, 3 mins walk, 8 mins jog, 3 mins walk, 5 mins jog

Completed. But I will confess I felt worn out and tired afterwards.

The good news is I feel heaps better today and my lip is not so swollen. Gonna have today as a rest day and no exercise except maybe a gentle walk later. Don't want to overdo it and will see how I feel for C25k tomorrow.
