I really should do some strength training today, but I really can't be bothered :( I'd so much prefer to go for a walk. My partner has opened a couple of packets of biscuits too and even though I've hidden them in a cupboard, I still know they're there.

this is the point I usually get to, about a week in to any of my 'plans' where I find some excuse to not do it any more. :(

If I were you, I'd go brush your teeth to get a minty taste in your mouth, it seems to help get rid of the desire for snacking. Woolworths sell a little minty breath freshner spray that is handy for such emergencies, it's called Ultrafresh and is sold near the toothbrushes etc.

Then whilst you're still strong, you could find a plastic bag and put the offending biscuits into it and ask dear partner to please keep them in his car until you are a bit stronger willed.

I'm thinking about asking him to keep them at work.

I think, in view of the fact that it is such a fantastic day outside and it's going to rain over the next few days, I will go for a walk and do strength training on the next couple of days when the weather is crappy.

Anything is better than nothing.

Just got back from a quick walk. 35mins, I counted the steps from about 1/2 way (by my approximation) and got 1500 steps which makes approximately 3000 steps for the full trip.

Plus I did the shopping today and walked down every aisle, and did the washing and a bit of cleaning. that will be it for me today.

I also felt a bit sad today too Linda, I guess if we don't have some glum times we'd never be able to appreciate the good times.

That's wonderful news Fay.

I have Leslie Sansone's Walk Aerobics 40 plus workout,
it's supposed to be equal to 2 miles of walking.
Unfortunately it's a video and our video player doesn't work anymore.
She's very good though.

well done Carla. I'm going to walk in to town today (about 45 mins) and pay some money off my Dentist bill and look for a pedometer. Might get some beads to make some more earrings too.

Apparently excercising releases neurochemicals that can naturally combat depression. I know when you're down it's hard to be bothered, but if you can convince yourself to, the excercise might even make you feel happier!

I think it did me the world of good having a rest day yesterday, raring to go today. I think if you diet and exercise 24/7 you start to lose motivation. Doesn't hurt to give yourself a little treat every now and again for the hard work. I tired a pedometer once, but I found it to be way inaccurate {I tested it on the treadmill} What I would be interested in is a watch that measures your pulse, does anyone know who sells them?
