Today I am walking to work which is about 25 minutes walk. I will also be walking back.

I have walked down the street already.

I have not got my pedo on yet but Id say Ive done about 2, 000 steps so far.

This morning I worked around the birds for 4 hours and that included the following;

Walking (around all the aviaries)
Weights (carring 10 litre buckets with bird seed in them)
Step-Up's (Stepping up into our 140 aviares)
Squat's (bending from the knees picking up seed trays,
with seed in them)

That's my excersise for today. :D

 no exercise today - my back is very painful after over-doing the work on the patio. I can't even bend enough to do my runners up today! :(

Hope I don't gain the weight back while I am waiting for the back to repair.

Maria I hope the back gets better soon! Just remember to "bend witht he knees and not with the back"!

My exercise today was a 1.5 hour walk round the waterworks reserve. Booked a badminton court for an hour on Thursday too - can't wait!

Fay, I love how you've listed your exercise. It's amazing how much we really do without having to go to a gym.

Maria, I hope you heal soon. I remember when I shifted 800 paving bricks by myself a few months back. I ended up pinching a siatic nerve in my right butt cheek (even though it had a deep ache throughout my lower back and down my leg. I couldn't get out of bed for a week and it took another 2 weeks for the pain to disappear completely.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts - Roger and I shifted, literally over 6 tons of earth, rocks and landscape shaper! Although I will add here that he did not want me to do so much but I guess I might be a tad stubborn! At the time, it felt ok and I thought the backache was due to not using those muscles very often - but I don't think it is that.

Never having had a back problem before I am not sure what it is - the pain is in my left lower back - and it is worse when I lie down or sit... I would rather not go to a doctor as I always feel ill when I am in there

Thanks again..

Cheers

Sounds to me like a muscular problem. Take it easy for a while and don't to any vigorous bending or twisting. When you're all better, make sure you don't overtax your back - stuffing your back is not a fun thing. Doing exercises to strengthen the abdominals and back muscles can help prevent injuries (eg, pilates).
