will go for a walk round waterworks with the bloke (if I can drag him away from the car  )

We ended up driving to Richmond and wandering around lost in the maze for a while then walking around the town. About 8500 steps ish. Will be re-organising all my books and stuff from this year at uni so they're out of the way for when my parents come down for graduation on Wednesday too.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

2hr 50 min walk :D :D :!:

Does anyone know how many kms I would've done at a brisk pace or where to go to find out?

Might be 9 or more kilometers.
You could get in your car and drive the distance, or borrow a pedometer that will tell you the distance. It's too tricky to work out as your pace size has a lot to do with it too.

According to Dr Karl, http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/moments/s641636.htm , the average walking speed is 8kph, although I thought it was more like 5. so I'd say anywhere from 15-24km according to those statistics
