Yum! Use to live near to one of the best turkish restaurants in London... Gallipoli on Upper Street Islington, l could go a few courses of their finest now... mouth watering meats, lovely breads and rice... tasty yoghurts and dips..

Love Beirut and Iranian too... basically the same kinds of things... the breads are different and the Iranian rice is devine..

God I'm hungry now

I surely was...one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I camped out on ANZAC Cove for the Dawn Service...it was unbelievably moving...

Feel free to have a look at my pics...http://alitodd.fotopages.com/?entry=786810

I've been to 2 different concentration camps and they were horrific...

I honestly can't remember it was in the early 90's when the Berlin wall had just come down, exploring East Berlin was great, it was basically just as the Russians had found it, l went back about four years ago and it had all been rebuilt..

Your pics are great, I noticed the Sphinx in the first one... I have some good friends the wife is related to Lalor who was the leader of the rebels at the Eureka stockade anyway I was reading a book about Gallipoli and found out that his grandson a captain went furthest inland on the very first day of the action and was killed within hours of going ashore... no one else ever again made it any further than they did on that first day... it was a complete disaster from start to finish...

Anyway l told her and took the book around, there was quite a lot of him in there and on the internet, her or her dad had never known that story and were completely shocked... seemingly he had a family sword with him that was never retrieved...

well l guess the finish wasn't an example seeing as the aussies lost no one at all but as you will know ANZAC cove is but a very small part of the Gallipoli story..

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
