Starburst Gummi Fruits

Postby EmilyP » Wed Jan 17, 2007 8:50 pm

These have lots of glucose in them, so usually grab some of these if i'm having a hypo or feeling a bit funny.
I need a new alternative, because i can't stop at a few! i almost eat the whole packet.

I'm craving them now! arrghh. Im pleased the shops are shut and the servo doesn't sell them lol

This is unusual for me because i'm not really a lollie person, im usually partial to chocolate and lots of it.

about all i can suggest is natural confectionery company gummy bears which come in snack pack sizes (individual bags around 20g...not sure as haven't got them in the house right now). I occasionally have a craving and find that one teeny bag suits me...I would eat a whole big bag if I had it but for some reason I don't feel the need to open another little bag...maybe there is something psychological in finishing the bag :?

It's not a cheap way to buy them but I find a large bag of little bags lasts me several months
Cheers, Mary

If I could find a ticker for measurements it would say I'm on the way from a waist measurement of 134cm to one of 70cm (currently at 129cm)

I'm not really a lollies person, apart from the chocolately lollies like Chico's, Fantales, Jaffa's, Freckles, Smarties etc etc..
I love the Allen's Chocolate Party Mix! Yumo :D

I start to feel a bit funny if I eat too many lollies. Not sure that I have a favourite... strawberries and cream are nice, and spearmint leaves! I'm getting a bit stuck on Jols at the moment and can't seem to leave them alone. They don't have any sugar so that won't help :?

What about some yummy fruit? It's got the sugar, with the added benefits of fibre (to make you full) and vitamins :D

I can't eat more than 2 of those Jols in a day without having violent stomach cramps and really bad smelling gas!!!!

And Sarah, you're right about the fruit! I would so rather have fruit than lollies.. mm! I just had some strawberries, yoghurt and diet jelly :D

I'm a lolly addict from way back. The worst I can do is eat really hard redskins, they then go softer and chewier and by the time I'm finished one I need another... and then the packet is gone! I know I'm back to problem stage when I'm eating redskins

The Great Australia Diet says if you need to snack on something grab a handful of nuts like raw peanuts or almonds. Another alternative is a small handful of dried fruit, or I like those 99.9% fat free rice crackers. I just get a small bowl and have one at a time and it really helps. Or again, the frozen grapes :D

Is there anything you can do to make fruit tastier? I love my vegies, but fruit, I just don't like it!

Saying that, I do like banana smoothies and have treated myself to a blender to try to get a bit of fruit in.

Now back to the lollies! Does anyone remember the little allens racing cars? YUMMO! I guess its an advantage living in Karratha as there are no specialty lollie shops only coles and woolies and they don't have many items on the shelves for temptation.
