weigh in for redrose

Postby redrose78 » Sun Oct 19, 2008 11:25 am

Must say I was pleasantly suprised with the scales this morning. I have lost 3kgs in my first week of my weight loss journey. I have seriously never eaten more in my life. I read so much material on foods and metabolism and stuff. I discovered that my 2 or 3 meals a day wasn't enough food. So yeah, started eating three main meals a day, plus snacks, so I am eating every 2 and a half to three hours. Plus I am no longer starving by dinner time so I am having about half the size meal than I used to. Plus I have managed to get in over 30 mins of exercise 5 days this week. Hopefully next week will also produce a similar result!

Ok, so jumped on scales today, one day late, no probs, still weigh 105kgs. Not bad, at least I didn't gain. I didn't exercise much at all last week. I ended up with bad blisters on the soles of both feet from a 12km bushwalk. I decided to give myself the week to heal. I still made sure I ate often and small serves, also drank plenty of water. I am suprised I didn't put on weigh.
Last weekend was a big big one. Over two nights I drank 4 bottles of wine. I started early and finished late!! Didn't really realise how much I was drinking, the top ups kept coming, would be easy to just blame my friends, lol. I suppose that happens from time to time. Was the biggest weekend for this year! Ok, I drank too much but I did not let my good eating go downhill, I ate sensibly, so I guess that must count for something.
Back to it this week though, aiming for another 5 day exercise week, at least 30 mins each day so yeah, will see how I go.

Couldn't wait until until Sunday, I wanted to know if this week is heading in the right direction. Was glad to see the scales saying 104kgs, so 1kg loss since Monday. Am happy, I am sure Sunday is going to be better :D

Ok, so scales have been good to me this week. I didn't get in the exercise that I was hoping for but all good. Did plenty of housework so I guess that made up for it! 103 kgs hey!?! Well, just over one month until my birthday and looking good so far. Only have another 4 kgs to lose to reach my first goal.

Wow, you had a great loss this week. I was walking every morning, and I know everyone is different, but it didn't actually help with my weight loss, I actually slowed down... but if I get out in the garden for a whole day and weed, rake and clean etc it really helps (I think I move more muscles that way?). Housework helps too I reckon!! Good luck for this coming week :D

I am the same. I find walking doesn't help with much weight loss. I do find just mixing up exercises does the trick. I have an exercise bike here at home, jump on that every now and then. Although can only do 10 mins, after that my butt hurts, lol. I also have a Walk away the pounds video, which I think is great, is like low impact aerobics. I also do some weights twice a week. Apart from that, housework, gardening, I do take the dogs for a walk twice a week, but I have been doing that for months. I find walking doesn't shift the weight at all. Even the bushwalking I used to do, some of that was really hilly terrain. Dirt trails, some places sandy trails. Hard walking and yeah, no weight loss from that either!!

Yeah... and then you see some people, they walk and the weight just melts off... oh well, I guess we are all built differently :-) I would love to get an exercise bike!! I bought a treadmill.. but it doesn't really help, at least I am still getting exercise I suppose!!
