Danielle's weigh in's (need to lose over 40 kgs)

Postby dAnIeLLe » Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:33 pm

Hey, i wanted to start my own weigh in post so here it goes..
A little about me : Im Danielle, 23yrs old (24 in a few weeks lol). I was on duromine when i was in high school (16 or 17 yrs old) i started at 95kgs and got down the 76kgs, after i stopped taking them i went back up to about 85kgs and stayed at that weight till i fell pregnant with my daughter when i was 19. I ate so much crap when i was pregnant and put on about 27kgs  Anyways after she was born i didn't lose that weight.. i got up to 120kgs..i wanted another baby so my kids would be close in age so we had another daughter, with that pregnancy i watched what i ate and only put on about 10kgs but lost about 5kgs a few months after she was born. 18 months later im ready to kick myself and lose some weight.
I have started again using duromine to give me that kick start, I know some people may not think duromine will help in the long run and some people may class it as cheating but I feel as though i need the energy/motivation of seeing results and also being so big i'd like to stay on duromine till i get down to at least 90kgs (unless doctors stops prescribing it to me) I also need to learn to eat smaller portions and healthier chioces oh and exercise.. ive never really gotten into exercising before.
My first goal is double digits lol.. second goal i would love to be back at 85. I know its gonna be hard cause thats like 43kgs i would like to lose. Once i get to 85 i will have a new goal but at the moment i cant imagine me getting that low. The first few weeks i haven't really done much exercise but last week i started walking and doing some exercise at home as well (more like jumping around like a spaz aka dancing with the kids haha.. )but i got sick after 3 days of 30 min walks and didnt have the energy do get out plus was hard to breath because i have the flu. i do as many push ups and sit ups as i can... 120kgs is alot to lift with push ups.. but im ready to change that!
So far this is how my weigh in's have panned out:

22 july 09 - 128kgs - started duromine on the 23rd
31 july 09 - 126.4kg - lost 1.6kgs :)
07 aug 09 - 123.4kg - lost 2kgs :)

22 aug 09 - 119.7kg - lost 1.9kgs :)

Thanks.. Duromine helps alot.. and having energy back again is good. Still having trouble sleeping tho so every now and then ill miss taking a tablet and catch up on my sleep. I'm also having a little trouble remembering to eat, i should probably start making me food when i make the kids food and force myself to eat.. I'd hate to come off the duromine and eat like a horse lol. :?

weighed in today and only lost 600gms which i put down to being sick and not exercising then when i got better i dont 2 days of 1 hour sessions of wii fit but i also had a wedding on Saturday so ate the meals provided and then fathers day i ate a vege pizza on thin and crispy crust (4 slices :? ) i guess a loss is better then a gain.

A loss is better than a gain, and we all know that weight loss can be unpredictable. If you kept on your diet, more or less, and the scale moves down than that's a victory. 600grams every week for a year is 31 kg.

A friend of mine used duromine, he said his mouth got really dry - is that the case for you?

This guy has recently lost 22kg (from 144 to 122kg, but he was only on duromine for a month of that diet and didn't lose much weight that month.) Previously he had been on duromine and had good success on it.

Thanks CC, yeah im actually glad now that it was a loss and not a gain. so not disappointed anymore :)

Yes duromine does give me a dry mouth but in a way i find it help me down the water that i need and that i NEVER used to drink.. its kinda like a water reminder lol. I also had success on duromine about 6 yrs ago and lost 20kgs, i know i hae alot more to lose this time so thought i would try it again.. in the past 6 yrs i have tried to go back on duromine but at the times i tried my daughter were only a few months old and i couldn't handle the lack of sleep with a new born baby so i stopped taking them. my son and daughters are now 5, 3, and 18 months so they are sleeping through the night so i find for the last 7 weeks on duromine that my sleep is fine and im not finding it hard this time around.. I also think duromine has giving me the energy to get off my arse and exercise.. i used to be one of the laziest people and now i feel like i have the energy and motivation to get up and do what needs to be done.

For me i am basically using duromine to give me the kick start, motivation, energy and to help me train myself in portion control before i go off it and tackle it on my own.. i dont wanna give up this time like i have so many other times.. i wanna be proud to be me..wow cant even type that without crying.

sorry if i rambled a bit there.. but thanks for checking out my posts.

My friend said exactly the same thing about duromine putting him in the habit of drinking more water, he said that was the most lasting benefit he got from using it.

I can only imagine how difficult duromine and a new born would be, as far as getting sleep is concerned. Now that you've got the opportunity you're trying again.

I'm sorry you're upset about wanting to be proud to be yourself. For me though (i lost 27kg when i was 19 and got down to a healthy weight) I found that because weight loss didn't change how I felt about some important issues I decided that it didn't matter and just let the weight come back on. So in my opinion, weight loss is something good you can do for yourself and your family, but don't over invest it in emotionally because it may backfire.

So I'm on your side :D and wishing you the best of luck. You're doing really well!

Hey Danielle I just read through your post and you are doing really well. So good luck with it! Dont by any means think that Duromine is "cheating"... I am on Jenny Craig and some people have responded in the same way so I just showed them and lost the weight! And I will never let it come back! Woo!
p.s. 24 with three kids wow I still feel way too young for kids but you are testament! :D Congrats!
