Oli S weigh in

Postby Oliviasf » Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:27 am

Oli here, this is my first weigh in!! EEK...
I am very new at this, so here goes:

Today I weighed in at 67.8 kg
mini goal: 65 kg
Goal: 59 kg

I can't remember my starting point anymore, but I was around 69.5 kg the day after I had my baby in Feb 09. (I was 79 the day before I had baby)
I lost and regained each week with b-feeding.
One month ago I was 68.8 kg so I've lost just 1 kg in a month.

My gosh, I am a little discouraged as I am loosing SO slowly :(
But at least I am now fitting into my "skinny" pre-pregnancy jeans!!! I've been hitting the gym hard though when I do go, so I think I have put on muscle which weighs more. But still.. nice to see the scale going down.
I've been ill for the past month, unable to go to gym for 2 wks, then went to London for a hens night (hardly any alcohol though), so been a tough one.

I'm 34 years old, new mom, have a great husband and will be a bridesmaid to my sister in December!!
Any HELP or encouragement would be welcome?!?
I may just do the before and after pics too (if I have the courage to)
Oli

welcome to the forum!

dont be discouraged that you're losing weight slowly! from what i've seen, as soon as alot of people get into the 60s, its a very slow process.. but the smaller you get, the more you can notice even 1kg loss.. and because you're toning up and making muscle, you might not see it on the scales but you should see it in the mirror!

if you stay positive and keep going, i think you'll reach you're goals :) and i think you should definitely do before/during/after photos! not only for everyone else to see the difference, but for yourself.. for example, ive lost 11kg but i dont see much difference, but then i look at some photos and im like 'wow thats what i look like now compared to then?'

i hope you keep up the good work! :)

Wow, your progress looks great! I hope I get there too.
I went to gym again today - working those abs, perhaps I'll see them by Christmas.

What's your BMI, and what BMI are you aiming for? It sounds like you are already in the healthy weight range, weight loss slows down a lot once you are there, don't expect to be losing 1kg every week!

Good luck Oli!

CZ and emmer are right once you get close to the healthy weight range or within it - it is tough!
I work out a lot and quite muscluar and lean and I am not yet even IN the range (pains me thinking about it!)..
Be realistic with your goals thatw ay you dont set yourself up to be disappointed :)

This last little bit of weight loss is taking its toll on me so now I am realising that this is forever so I dont need to rush!

Good Luck xo

Hey thanks, Shalimar...
It all seems to be going well. Scale hasn't shifted but my clothes are so much looser. I have decided I have to start weighing food so I know exactly how much I'm eating and I was astounded at how much more I could eat  And it's good to remind myself of portion sizes so from now I'll have a better picture. I don't think I've been having enough KJ each day, especially going to gym 4 - 5 times a week so I'm going to up them and then drop down again.

Went out to a restaurant today and had less than half of what was on the plate (there was a lot of food), so have no idea of the cals in that, but felt hungry by the time I got home again so had some fruit.
I also went to gym for 1 3/4 hours and concentrated on my arms, back and legs and did about 45 mins cardio. Feel great now.
I'm also going to focus on eating good fats and more milk as I don't get enough. Let's see how this week goes!
Monday I think I will go up to 5100 KJ then go back down to 4800 KJ on Tuesday.

I had a picture taken today so I'll post it up somethime this week. Here's to Monday!

Today I weighed in and lost another 400g and this was in a matter of about 4 days. So really happy with that!
I am weighing food and realised that I've forgotten what a portion size looks like hahaa.. I can eat more protein that I have been too, and fats.

I ate around 5000 kj Mon, 3600 kj Tues, today I've had around 2900 so far but aim to get it to between 4800 and 5000 kj by the end of the day. My aim is to average between 4400 and 4800 kj.
Seems like calorie cycling is helping so might just continue (Thanks Sam). Feel awesome actually, possibly combination of a hard workout yesterday and cutting back on cal intake.

Last week: 67.4 kg
Today: 67.0 kg
Lost: 400g

Until next time!
PS will post up my latest pics on my before-after shots.

Thanks Shalimar and Star22 :D

This week has gone well. Don't know exactly what I weigh yet.
I seem to have a scale malfunction on my hands! (mmm I did drop it about 2 weeks ago which is not too smart). It said I was 66.0 kg then back up to 67.1 kg but it repeatedly did this so who knows.
I'll be happy if I get into the 66's.

This last week, well, didn't quite go as I'd planned it with calorie cycling. Started off well but on my higher cal days, I didn't seem to make it. Meal planning is NOT my forte! After having baby I have gone off a lot of foods and now would rather have a (diet) milk shake than eat. (No, I try not to have shakes only when I can't find anything else to eat).

So, Saturday - meant to be a high cal day of about 6300 kj, probably ended up being btw 4500 and 5000 kj. Had guests for dinner but was rushing around like a chicken with no head, and managed to fit in just 30 min of gym.
Sunday, had left overs (after hubby got stuck into it first), and also didn't do much at all so didn't have a high cal day either.
Monday, a new week! I had a few more calories today to try and get it up again. Forced myself to have 1 egg and double portion of oats (600 kj) and went to gym at lunch time - did 45 minutes of cardio and weights.
Tuesday, well it started off ok. Rushed getting baby to crèche, then so busy at work that I only managed to fit in a yoghurt. Made sure I ate again around 11:00 and then again at 13:30 with something healthy. My husband was leaving for the airport so left to put baby to bed, thank goodness he didn't give me too much of a hard time (baby that is). So I managed to fit in 40 minutes on my elliptical trainer. Yippee! Finished off with healthy dinner, but ended with a block of chocolate (not much). So my KJ intake today was btw 4800 and 5000 kj, which is good. .

Tomorrow should be my next weigh in so we'll see if my scale is working. I've also started to take measurements. Not remeasured this week yet, but I have noticed that my whole body is starting to feel great and toned. Awesome to feel like I've got muscle again!
I have also found that my tailored work shirts fit me!! So I don't have to go out and buy new ones.

Only downside is that the bridesmaid's dress is already too big on me - I can live with that :D

Weighed in today : 66.6 kg
Lost 400g this week which is fine and happy with this as my jeans are getting too loose on me so can feel a difference.

Hoping to get down to around 66.0 kg by the end of the week.

At last! I've had comments from two different friends who said that they can see I've lost weight.
It's coming off slowly but at least the mere 3 kgs is showing. I've only really lost 2 kg in the last two months, but gym is really making a big difference.
