Thanks Kate.
I'm thinking of going off my body fat % (my boyfriend has fancy scales that estimate this). Either that or just measuring my waist & hips every month or so.
I'll keep weighing and try to feel a bit more confident about the number I see.

Also try to use the same scales each week Garfield that way even if they are dodgy at least it's consistently dodgy! :D

Last week: 50.0 kg
This week: 49.7 kg

I agree - the scales can be very confusing sometimes! Definitely try and use the same scales every time, and weigh at the same time every day (first thing before breakfast is best), and with the same amount of clothes on. For some reason, shoes make a LOT of difference... never wear them!

(Interesting story, please don't read if you've just eaten.... I had a major stomach upset this morning just after I did my weigh in above, and out of morbid curiosity I decided to jump on the scales again. I weighed 49.0kg. A loss of 0.7 kg in just 10 mins :!: )

Interesting Sarah... I also have one of those stories, so if you've just eaten you should ignore this one too.
One time I had a fairly bad stomach upset for about two days. All I did, other than walking to the doctor, was lay on the lounge and attempt to eat occasionally. I lost 3kg in 2 days. This was no good for me at the time because I was 62kg (my goal at the time) and it dropped me to 59 which is almost too low for me according to my BMI.
Anyway, my point is that the amount of food in your body at any given time can have a big impact on your weight.
By the way, I'm totally not advocating vomiting as a good way to lose weight, as well as being bad for your health it's just a yucky way of doing things. :(

Well done on your losses everyone, it's very motivating. Have to wait until Friday to see my weekly weigh-in, but with Italian for tea the other night and TTOTM, I'm not very hopeful

I love reading everyone's progress, so keep up the fantastic work guys!

hehehehe congrats on your weightloss too Sarah!! I had a bit of a chuckle of the bad stomach complaint!!! (here is a funny for you too...years ago when I was at Weight Watchers I was a helper and I became firm friends with the fellow who did the weigh ins, well one night I had a bad case of wind  and he said hop on the scales, so I did and then he said go outside and let one rip and then come back and we will weigh you again!! I was .3kg lighter!! we just all disolved in laughter and couldn't stop for quite a while!!) Doesn't top the .7 though!!

On a serious note, well done Sarah, you must be close to your goal now...Cant' remember was it 49?? You are going really well!!
