 I would NEVER get a partner's name tattoo'd on me, no matter what. No matter if I thought they were the one and only, be all and end all etc etc. NO. WAY. You just never know what's around the corner, as I've found out  The only name I would ever get tattoo'd is my children's (if I ever have any) and maybe David Attenborough

You're right, Kim! The tattoo is part of my "Healing Process", making a decision for me, made solely by me and affecting only ME ;) My new beginning is the new and improved me. I want those 70's so badly, I'm willing to work my butt off to see it as soon as possible!! Now that my legs seem to be working a little better I can step it up a notch. I won't go too hard out this afternoon though as I have my PT early Saturday morning and need to be able to move

I always find, the longer I stick at it, the better I am at sticking at it. Like I get to a point where I go "3 days on track, don't stuff it up now!" then it gets to 5 days, just shy of a week then over a week...then 2 weeks etc. You get the point. I don't want to undo my good run so to speak once I get to a certain point.

I think the main thing holding me back currently is my dealing with stress right now. I know stress eating is silly and doesn't work, but it's the feel good, comfort emotions that I get FROM eating that get me every time. I'm feeling a little less stressed right now though, for the moment anyway. Trying to organise all this money stuff and transfer of property is really stressful, not to mention the emotional stress of STILL having to be in contact with him. Plus, I found some more stuff of his I forgot I had, NOOOOOOO!

Anyway, hoping since I have my solicitor sorted and he has his, that things will go fairly smoothly. I just want to be FREE and rid of this so I can move forward with my life. I hate this limbo I'm currently in. BUT having said that, the days, weeks and months will go quickly while I'm trying to get things sorted so I should take advantage of that and LOSE THE WEIGHT!

I call it the zone and it usually takes me up to a month to get into.. its when I'm like on automation, I'm set in my diet and exercise routines, dropping the weight and have absolutely no thoughts about eating anything other than meal times and even start looking forward to the exercise.. it's a great place to be.. 8)

 I can see how it could have been taken that way, thankfully it's not his name, it's just a small tattoo I got when I was young and foolish and didn't know what I wanted

Ahhh yes, the ZONE. Love the zone! Although I find when I'm in the zone, though awesome for weight loss, it's terrible for "real life" I get SO focused that any deviation from the road is horrible and annoying and frustrating. But I know in the long run it's great for me as I see loss after loss, week after week and I work hard to get there.

One of the things that we have to confront is linking "comfort eating" and life's problems (stress etc). It just doesn't have to be that way. It is a mind excuse to sabotage us from success. It's like a drunk who says that he needs a drink to cope with work. If he didn't drink in the first place he probably wouldn't be having work problems.

When I was overweight I ate when I was unhappy...but I also ate when I was happy. Let's face it - I really didn't need any excuse...I just ate! It was the thing I did when I was at a loose end and doing nothing. I just had an out of control eating habit...any excuse will do and if I couldn't be found I would invent one! Normal people don't go on a binge-athon when stressed so why are we? It's just our dirty old habit.

So how do we combat this bad habit? A revelation on this come to me during my weight loss journey one night. I was having an argument with my wife one night (she can be so unreasonable at times...unlike saintly me  ). The the old days I would finish off the argument by sweeping up the car keys and then hang out at some takeaway eatery until she would come to her senses and start missing wonderful me (funny...she never did ring my mobile :? )! This night was different. It was reaching it's peak and I was in the throws of taking the high moral ground when I suddenly realised that the fast food getaway wasn't an option any more. What was I to do? I need a grand exit or there could be murder that night. Then it came to me...I grabbed my ipod, put on my runners and ran into the night with a parting shot at her (grown adults can behave very badly can't they?). I was so fuelled that night that I ran for two and a half hours. The run did me a power of good. I ran out my anger, prayed out my frustration and thought out my wrongs...and interestingly - burnt off extra calories instead of putting on more!

Bottom line - replace old bad behaviour with good healthy habits.

I am still taking it slow. One day at a time, just one foot after the other so I don't falter. But it would be nice to get there. I think if I get those numbers in 4 weeks, I'll be more than happy to move forward and reach those 70's, they will be so much closer. That's my main hurdle. Once I'm in those 70's I will take things slow and steady, do what works but don't push to the limit so I give up. This needs to be a long term thing.
