I've just been very lazy, if I gave it some effort I'm sure I could get the rest off. Which is exactly what I've decided to do now that I took a few weeks as a break:

February 3rd/10th/17th: --

Will be weighing in again this Sunday, hopefully I can lose at least 1kg.

That's a fab number - specially at this end of the journey. You must have put in a superhuman effort. Great work...and getting so close to goal! :D

October 25th: 83.0 KG

Almost 3 years later and I've managed to put on 10KG, which isn't too bad considering I haven't been watching what I eat at all.

Time to get back to it I think. :D I'm never gonna let myself get that heavy again! Gonna try and hit my goal of 70KG this time, rather than settling with 73KG. Will post my progress every Sunday until the end of the year, at least.

Great to see you back on the horse and ready to see this thing to the end. :D

I never tried to lose weight except for the one time that I did.
I always said to myself that if I was going to lose weight that I would not play at it but just do it.
The understanding in my head was that weight loss meant real permanent change in my life.
The cost of that change had to be well accounted and probably why I waited until my 5th decade to do so.

The "pointy" end of the journey is very tough and it takes real grit to push that last 5 kilos or so off but it is really worth it.
It forges your character and is the crucible that underscores how important it is not to let yourself go back.
It is hard enough getting to the end without the bother to do it over and over again.
As I say to my friends...I'm keeping it off - I'm far to lazy to gain it/lose it/gain it/lose it - once is enough!

You've learnt something very important to your future success.
Now is the time to capitalise on it and win through.
Wishing you all the best on your better future! :D

I don't mind going up and down a bit, as long as I can keep it under control. But I'm never letting myself get that big again. :)

I have found that keeping a set boundary range of 3 kilos useful (between 67 and 70 kilos).
I can travel as much as I like within that range but when I get to the edge (or occasionally cross it) then straight into fix it mode.
This way I only have to push back a few kilos rather than trying to move off kilos and kilos of fat.
So it means weighing myself everyday.

The survey on retaining long term weight loss (for more than one year) by those who have lost a significant amount show one of the most common traits they have is weighing themselves daily.
A book I'm reading at the moment suggests that of all the common traits they have - the only thing these practices share is that they shows that the people continue to be highly motivated to keep the weight off.
The other common traits are; most of them eat very much the same foods (that suit them) regularly without much variation an they do some form of exercise daily.
All these practices are "mindful" practices.
