Hopefully by January!!

Postby Emmie » Sat Oct 22, 2011 1:05 am

Have been using this website for ages but only just got the courage to put out in the web world my weight! Hoping to lose 21 kgs in total by January 10, 2012 before I go back to see my family who I haven't seen for 12 months. Started back in August when i was told my blood pressure was too high, along with my cholesterol and a number of other things. Kick in the butt I needed! Hard to keep going (especially as I work 2 jobs) but just thinking about the looks on my family's faces when I turn up is sometimes all I need.

So far:
16/08/2011 87
23/08/2011 83.9
30/08/2011 83.6
6/09/2011 82.5
13/09/2011 82.1
20/09/2011 81.5
27/09/2011 80.8
4/10/2011 79.8
11/10/2011 80.2
18/10/2011 78.4

Got a bit behind when i went away for a week-tried my best in wine country to be good, even power walked around the apartment we stayed in at night followed by heaps of situps and lunges!

And another major setback. After having a car accident last week and not being allowed to go to the gym, had to have emergency surgry yesterday and no exercise for at least 2 weeks. Going to be so far behind! :( Although thanks to getting more in shape, hopefully recovery won't be as bad as it would have been a few months ago!

Crikey, Emmie. Not a good start to your new healthy you! Hopefully you'll recover quickly.

That's actually a good point you brought up regarding a better recovery from surgery. Being in good shape is a self-funded and underwritten medical insurance policy that will give a person a statistically better chance of faster recovery from procedures, fewer complications and less chance of dying on the operating table.

Losing weight and becoming healthy is more important than to just to be able to fit into a smaller clothing size. It helps reduce the risks involved in some other activities.
