Hello,

83.5kg for a loss of 1.0kg this week.

Only a couple of walks this week, but kept my food intake the same.
Picked up a 10kg bag of chicken food for my chickens a few days ago, hard to believe I was carrying around that much extra weight 2 months ago. No wonder I feel more energetic.

Until next week....

Hi again,

82.4kg for a loss of 1.1kg this week.

I have pulled a muscle in my neck just yesterday putting up a new farm gate, very hard to turn my head or actually move much, so exercise could be out for a while. Even with little exercise I should be able to lose about 0.7 kg with my kilojoule intake. I'm still on 7000kj's a day. I'm still amazed at how much food that is when it's healthy food, but equates to a couple of burgers with fries when it's not. Hope everyone else is going well with their plans.

Until next week.....

I enjoy coming in and having a read of your weigh in and the little asides you put in. Thanks :)

I hope your neck gets better soon, a stiff neck's so hard to deal with :(

Hello again,

81.2kg for a loss of 1.2kg this week.

My neck seemed to fix itself after a few days, and I did quite a bit of physical work after that.
Only 1.2kg from my target, I think I will try to lose some more weight and get to that BMI of 25 (75.5kg) or below. I said a few posts back that at that weight I wouldn't feel ok, but I still have a bit more to lose off my belly. Guess I was only kidding myself, just like when the DR asked what I ate each day and portions, who was I kidding. If I was eating that amount I wouldn't of got up to 94kg in the first place. I now understand what my body burns each day, and to keep equal or less than those kilojoules to maintain or lose weight. Time for brekkie....

until next week....

Congratulations on your weight loss, what are your future goals or plans when you reach your goal weight?

Hi Phillip, thanks. I'll probably continue to lose a bit more, 80kg was just my initial goal, it's not until I get below 76kg that my BMI will go under 25. Ever since I left school my weight was 78 to 82kg, I'm 44 years old now. Then I went up to 94kg in mid January, I was 81kg at a DR's appointment 3 years ago. I will probably stop weighing food and calculating all my kilojoules, but continue to eat healthy, keeping an eye on my weight and counting kilojoules again to lose a kilo here and there when needed.
I now fully understand what my body burns and what energy is in food. I always thought things like chicken and fish were ok to eat until you are full, but they still have roughly 700kj per 100grams. I eat alot of fruit, a nashi pear has less than 200kj's per 100 grams. I really stick to my food scales, it's too easy to kid yourself on portion sizes.

Cheers

Thanks, I am proud. wearing my old t shirts and jeans again. Had a pair of jeans I bought 3 years ago when I was about 80kg, they look new and I can wear them again, they are actually a bit lose now.

Good luck with your weight loss.

I really agree with you there, many people who try and lose weight are doing the exercise to lose it. But there nutrition is letting them down, i see many people do this. Not to mention i know people who do this, i let them know and they just continue...

Yes, I would need to walk briskly for 100km a week to lose 1kg a week, who has time for that. Two and a half hours a day, every day. As long as you do some form of exercise for your cardio and general muscle tone, say 3 times a week for 30 minutes, unless your training for something in particular, that's plenty, but exercise in general will not lose you a lot of weight. Good nutrition will.
I find people exercise hard, which may burn 1000kj, but then eat even more than that because the exercise was so strenuous, which can make you even more hungry. I hardly exercise at all, but I do physical work around my farm, probably overdid it this week cutting up and splitting trees for firewood, my loss this week could be bigger, but in relation to the work I did, it won't be much. Most of the loss will be from my diet.
My weigh in is tonight, then I post results Friday morning.

Cheers

Hi again

79.2kg for a loss of 0.6kg this week

I went away for easter and got back yesterday, a longer holiday than planned. Didn't take my food scales as i had hit my initial target of 80kg. I am increasing my kilojoule intake slightly, so i plan to lose 0.5 to 0.75kg a week from now on until I get to a BMI of below 25, which is 75.5kg or below. So I have just under 4kg to go to get to this. Thought I am better to increase food slowly for a few weeks than do one big jump up to maintain weight. Will see how I feel and look after I get to 75, At that weight I'm at the top end of "normal" weight.

Until next week....

Hi again,

78.1kg for a loss of 1.1kg this week.

I have upped my kilojoules consumed, the extra loss this week is due to being more active this week, but I'll take the loss whichever way it comes.
By my calculations I only have about 2.5kg to go to get my BMI below 25, will see how I feel and look once I get to that weight, but at this stage I think 75ish is fine for me.

Until next week......
