This is incredibly frustrating!! Slow downs can play with your head a bit. Most of the time it's just your body catching up. You just have to slog it out and remember it won't last. Keep the basics sound and good losses will eventually follow.

Do make sure however that bad practices haven't slipped into your lifestyle. I know that with me snacks were increased without due care and that affected my weight loss rate.

If you feel you need to kick up your metabolism you can do this by varying your routine in exercise, eating habits or both. Rest day followed by a hard workout. Trying a new activity that uses muscle groups not normally used. Doing your exercise at another time of day. Changing your usual eating habits; I find that a nice piece of protein like a good quality steak will fire up the system. Try different new foods that the body hasn't had for a while may move the body out of routine digestion. Mix it up, the idea is the move the body out of coasting mode.

I'm still eating healthy, I think. 3 meals a day plus my snacks are peanuts fruit or cruskits or yoghurt Breakie is usually eggs on toast or just right Lunch in usually 3/4s salad with 1/4 meat ie ham chicken fish either just on the plate or in a wrap or on wholemeal bread tea is usually half a plate of mixed veggies meat and small serve of mash patatos. Water water water! My walk is half an hour before kids get up and now (past week) half in the evening.

My mum has gotten me a bike for Chrissy so that might be the boost I need :?

Just picked up my sons friend up for a sleep over and haven't seen this child's mum in a month or so and first thing she says as I get out of my car is "geez your lost some weight girl!" Omg!! I could barely contain my excitement here I was feeling pretty low about my pitiful recent weigh ins and feeling like I'm getting nowhere fast but people (well one anyway!) are noticing! It is working! Lol. That one simple sentence has changed my whole mind set and I feeling happy and excited again about continuing to work hard and keeping on going. I'm not sure if she realizes how much those words meant. I'm so greatful.

The results do creep up on you don't they? It's great seeing people who haven't seen you for a long while because they are the people who notice the difference.

Knowing how great it feels when people did notice my weight loss I now go out of my way to give those I see who have lost weight compliments.

It's a wonderful motivator to keep at it, isn't it? Go Tegan Go!!! :D

Wow!
Solid gold result! Great job (next week's result may be less speccy as your body catches it's breath - so enjoy it now).

Keep at it :D

I hope to be 60-65kgs which from my research is healthy for my height of 160cm. But talking to my hubby today I've decided to pay a visit to my dr. to make sure that is a healthy weight.

According to weight watchers I should be between 51-64 but I'll be happy below 65 at this point.

When I fell pregnant with my first son I was 65kgs so that's my aim. I was happy and healthy at that weight. Size 10. being stick thin does not appeal to me at all. Nor would my hubby be pleased lol

I am proud of myself. I always thought nah that's too hard but it's not! I love my morning walks and I'm still enjoying my food. Portion control was hard at first but now if I put too much on my plate I can't eat it anyway. I still have a little of everything which I think is the key for me. Not taking it away completely means I don't miss it or crave it. Potato chips are the only things I cut out completely. And now I find If I have only they taste gross anyway lol although I am expecting it to get harder as my goal gets closer and weight shifts slower to keep motivated.

Deciding what our weight should be is a vexed question. The guidelines charts are very general and each chart has different ideals (most are close to each other however).

The thing that concerns me is that these are average people weights. They don't allow for the extra loose skin and residue fat of weight loss. When I had my hernia fixed the surgeon also hacked off about two to three kilos of fatty skin from my gut. Later he reckoned that he could have taken more off. That's just from my stomach. I have loose skin at many places on my body. How much is that skewing my weight measure from "the normal"?

The best guide is how you feel. Do you sit comfortably at that weight? Do you feel healthy or worn out? I went down to my goal of 66.7kg (and that was conservative on the charts) but found that sitting in the range of 67-69.9kg is best for me. When I was losing weight I found it very hard to get past those numbers so obviously my body liked to sit around there. It feels a healthy place and I don't have to break my back maintaining it.

Go see a dietician may be a better option than a doctor. I saw my doctor for a check up after I had lost over 60 kilos. She thought that I'd lost enough weight but I was well over 20 kilos of what I should have been.

I know Kim there is such a mixed range out there but I choose 65 because I've been there before 4 kids so I figure that's where I should head back to! I was happy and healthy at that weight. I put on 20kgs in my first pregnancy and never lost it for 11 years. Hopefully by this time the only tell tale signs of my pregnacies will be my stretch marks which I can't change and are more noticeable now I'm 9 kgs lighter!!

As for the dietian ummmm well dr Kate is as good as it gets lol!! I live in a very very small country town I mean small and we only recently got woolies so I'm doubting I'll find a dietian.

As for loose skin this is my hugest fear!! Please god let my skin retain its elasticity somewhat I don't want nor expect a perfect flat tummy but I don't want and apron of skin either! A friend of mine recently lost 30 kgs in 5 mths on some weird shake diet. I asked her what she did to tone her tummy as she went and her reply was she didn't she just tucks her "apron" into her undies!! I do not want this!!
