http://www.weightwatchers.com.au/health ... t_int.aspx

You'll find the weight watchers one here which says you should be 63-79 kgs
I typed in to google "healthy weight for 160cm female" and just read thru the pages that it showed. After a few pages I had a range of 50-68 kgs which is when I decided my goal would be 60-65 kgs

Lol and yes babies certainly take a toll on their mummas! Scars marks saggy boobs and skin I shall live with proudly but hopefully not to much skin! I don't feel totally great in clothes I would like to drop from my current 14 to a 10. And I would love to feel comftable in sexy outfits for my hubby's eyes only!!

The trade off for rapid weight loss is loose skin. I probably lost my weight too quickly and should have done it slower so my skin could cope better with it. Ignorance is bliss and I didn't know any better at the time.

Since losing the weight its settled a bit but it was never going to be perfect. The way I look at it is this; my wife carried our child for 9 months and she has a small amount of lose skin, so I shouldn't be surprised when I carried more weight for over 30 years and heve a huge amount of loose skin.

I've read of people who endured monetary cost and a great pain to rid themselves of the loose skin problem mostly for cosmetic reasons. To me it seems a step too much. I was happy when the surgeon took off what he did. That little tummy of fatty lose skin didn't look right on a skin and bone body. More importantly it got in the way of day to day living. The apron of skin was very sweaty (even more than when it was an apron of fat) and flapped around when I exercised (tight underwear became essential). Those problems have been fixed.

It doesn't look pretty and I now have a very impressive scar across my stomach and no belly button but I can live with that. No one is going to see me naked except my wife (and its her own fault if she looks  ). I wear a t-shirt when I swim and look normal in regular clothes. So loose skin is just vanity. When I look at myself in the mirror it serves as a reminder of what I did to my body and that I must never put that weight back on. I wear it as a badge of honour of what I have achieved.

Keep your focus Tegan. This is the time of the year where the wheel falls off a lot of people's plans. Time to regroup and give it your all.

Character is about how you responsed. Give yourself a great number at the next weigh in and show us (and yourself) how you have grown in this journey to a better future. Work that lifestyle and win out! 8)

We believe in you. :D

Thanks guys :)

I haven't given up!! Not even a little bit :)

I weighed in this morning 76.9 kgs so I have lost the weight I gained and am heading back in the right direction!!

Under my Chrissy tree is a brand new bike from mum so 9 more days and I can add this to my daily exercise and I'm sure that will boost me back into the game. I haven't changed much so I think my body is just too used to walking now so looking forward to some change up in my routine.

Good one Tegan. Two thumbs up. That''s the way to go. :D

You are right about the body getting use to what you do. You've always got to up the exercise ante. Not only are we developing more muscle so the workouts became more easier but we forget that as we lose weight we are carrying less around with us. Always push the boundaries of what you think you can do. As you get healthier you will be able to do so much more than you would think possible.

If you feel that way about fitting into old clothes, I can't wait for your reaction when you have to buy new stuff because the old clothes are too baggy!

Time to get on the bike in more ways than one!

It's a tough time of the year with all the social demands that are placed on us. Those around us sometimes don't understand what we are trying to do and unfortunately trip us up often unintentionally. I've been to some parties recently where I've politely said no thank you to food only to have a cake thrust into my hands. I've skated to the very edge of my weight limit early this month because I allowed people's agendas to upset my plans. It did spur me to "bank" 2 kilos up my sleeve for the rest of December which kept the rest of the month controllable.

Routine is something we who are on this journey crave. That's because it's safe and predictable...if I eat this amount and sort of food with this type and length of exercise, I'll be around this weight. Life however is never routine and we have to learn how to deal with it. Learn the lessons with each encounter and grow stronger from the experience.

Glad to hear that you are adding bike riding. Pity that hill isn't sloping the other way. I would have preferred storm down the drive as the homeward leg. The good news is that as your legs get use to it, it will get easier. On my usual route for my walks/jogs I used to refer to two steep climbs as "Heartbreak Hill" and "Heartbreak Ridge". They were the challenging parts that would nearly do me in, now I power through them without a thought. One day soon not only will you do your drive way ride comfortably...but you'll do it twice (or more)!

What's that Queen song? Fat Bottom Girls...er no...Flat Bottom Girls! Get on your bike and make it so!

Here's to your successful new year!
