Great work so far Simon good on ya!! Getting close to your first goal now - I bet that feels good?!! I reached my first goal this week which was to get into the 80s - took me 8 weeks to lose almost 10kgs which I'm very happy with. Next goal is the 70s! Boy will I feel good when I hit that!

Well done you!! :)

It really is the little things...casual Friday...I managed to wear a shirt today that I bought maybe 18 months ago and wore once, little things like that make you feel good.

Getting very close to breaking that 100! Great work Simon.

You are right, it's those little that keep you motivated along the way. Just wait when the day comes when that shirt is too big for you to wear! :D This weight loss thing has cost me a fortune in clothes (which is a good problem to have)!

Hi All,

A loss of 1.7kg's this week which now puts me bang on 100kg's, as a bonus I went to the Doc's yesterday for a general check up which resulted in him lowering my medication dosage for blood pressure :D Happy days!

29/10/12: 101.7Kg

Good solid work Simon.

You must feel fab now that it's starting to pay health dividends. You'll be off that medication in no time if you continue the way you have. 8)

I remember going into my doctor's for a general check up after I had dropped about 60kg. It was great seeing her mouth drop with surprise. She asked me the same question a lot of people kept asking me. Had I lost the weight on purpose or was I ill? I think that I would have been to see her before then if I had been that sick! She was super impressed by the improvement of my numbers. She told me that I had lost enough weight. I told her according to the charts I was about two thirds of the way to where I should be. I think I may have kick started something in her. Since that time she has lost a good deal of weight and looking a lot healthier. :D

Even I was a little shocked this morning....I was a little disappointed at not breaking through the 100kg barrier last week....but this week I smashed it :D

97.7kgs...a loss of 2.3kgs this week...I know most will say that it is too much and too fast but I didn't really change much...I exercised a little more because the weather has been good and am walking around 10klm's per day. Oh well...happy days..another kilo and I will have reduced my weight by 10%.

15/10/12 - 107.2kgs
29/10/12 - 101.7Kgs
5/11/12 - 100.0kgs
12/11/12 - 97.7kgs

Excellent Simon! Breaking that 100kg mark is a milestone in your achievements. Keep it up.

That 10% loss you are getting close to is important. That's the fat that's surrounding your vital organs. You'll be start reaping great health benefits from it.

Make hay while you can Simon, as you get to the sharp end it does slow down. I lost weight at about the rate you are doing now (it's easier for us guys). Mentally prepare yourself that it will get tougher as you get to the end. The downside of losing it so quickly is your skin may not be able to keep pace and become wrinkily and loose . I know of what I speak, but that was my choice and I'll live with it.

Your initial goal was 90kg, have you reconsidered it? I don't know your stats so I may be off base here. :)

Hi Kim,

Firstly, thanks for your support, you story was amazing and inspiring.

I am 180cm and solidly built through the chest and shoulders, I will reconsider my goal weight when I eventually get to 90kgs (hopefully by Xmas), I think my ideal weight is around 85 - 87kgs, based on how I feel and look. I know that the BMI calculator says that I should be around 81kgs or under but there is no way that I could sustain that...if the additional few kilo's are muscle then I can live with that.

I am more inclined to listen to my body rather than what a BMI calculator is telling me.

You are right Simon. These things are only a guide. If you are doing lots of exercise it's so easy to forget that you are also building more muscle than "joe average".

My goal weight was 66.7kg which was a little above the average range for my height. I reached it simply because of my bloody mindedness but now I sit just under 70kg which feels comfortable and healthy for me. It's no good being the skinniest guy on the block and having no energy to enjoy life!

Keep it up

Hi Kim,

I am walking around 10klms per day currently and am now just starting to incorporate other exercise such as weights, push ups, sit ups etc...if i happen to build some muscle I will probably look more towards what the tape measure and clothes sizes are telling me rather than just the scales.

Thanks again.

Ok, had a few social engagements on the weekend but managed to stay somewhat on track. 96.0kgs even, so a decent loss of 1.7kgs this week. I now aiming to be 90kgs by Xmas, I think it is doable. I will reassess over Xmas and then probably focus on hitting 85Kgs.

Hope everyone else is going well and having a great day!

15/10/12 - 107.2kgs
29/10/12 - 101.7Kgs

12/11/12 - 97.7kgs
16/11/12 - 96.6Kgs (non official weigh in)
