Cackleberry's Weigh Ins

Postby Cackleberry » Sun Aug 03, 2014 7:55 pm

Well I start this journey off at 79.1kg. I am determined not to get over the 80kg mark, so now is the time to do something about it. I can't wait until Tuesday morning's weigh in to see a result. I am a serial weigher so I am determined to only weigh in on Tuesdays and that is it!!

I weigh myself every day...and record it in my "weight loss" book. I find that it keeps me mindful to the task at hand.

If you are going to weigh yourself every day you must understand not only the benefits of doing so but also the downsides as well.
There are many reasons why the body's weight will fluctuate.
Understanding those reasons will help you understand how your body works - not doing so - will mess with your head big time and may cause you to became discouraged.

Looking forward to seeing what Tuesday will bring for you! 8)

I'm glad weighing every day works for you, but it doesn't for me. Staying off those scales has been such a great feeling and I look forward to seeing what they say tomorrow without a feeling of dread.

Thanks Natasha :D I'm weighing in with a friend at the lake (bringing along my scales) but it isn't until 9am. I am wondering whether I should have my morning coffee still and then it will be the same every week, or to skip it and have one when I get back from my walk? I'm thinking that perhaps I will bring along a piece of fruit to have after the weigh in just so my body has something in it for the walk around the lake (around 2.5km).

It takes a certain amount of maturity to weigh in every day...that is why the experts don't recommend it.
If you aren't prepared for the roller-coaster ride of daily weigh ins then it is best not to.
Interestingly though, the statistics show those who manage to lose significant weight and keep it off for a year or more...
the majority of them do weigh themselves each day (and most record it).

It is always best practice to weigh yourself on an empty stomach. That way the weight measurement has the same consistent variables. For example my weigh in practice is always the same. I weigh myself in underwear, before breakfast and try to weigh myself at the same spot in the bathroom using the same set of scales.

I have too weigh myself everyday or my weight would spiral out of control,
it doesn't take much for my weight too go up up up...

I wish I didn't have too weigh everyday but I know I do...
with me I weigh before breakfast after a wee wee and
with nothing at all on I even take off my socks, looking
forward too summer..lol

Even with underwear on the bathroom is a cold place in winter! At least it concentrates the mind not to dawdle!

Weighing myself each day is such a part of my routine that I would be lost not doing it. When I was losing weight I went to Sydney for a week...the scales weighed too much to take with me...hated not knowing how I was going during those days.

Thanks Natasha :) Very excited to hop on the scales and see it going down for a change. I reached my goal of 500gm and it hadn't even been a week :)

i do mini goals as my big picture is way too big,
my goals had been
under 100
then 98
92
and now my goal is
88...
finding it so much more doable with my goals being realistic than me trying
too think about 78...oh i do think of 78 but i have too keep telling myself how well
im doing by getting too my mini goals..:-)
i believe that if i don't put on any week that's a goal for me also and i
pat myself on the back,
if i go off chops and go off the wagon,i go ok gf you had a bad day
start fresh tomorrow...

do you have a mini goal weight?
and do you reward yourself when you hit that mini goal??

ive started buying myself a new pair of knickers when i get too a 0 or 5,
well thinking about it the treat is more so for my husband
but i get a kick out of it also....

Only goal I have at the moment is to lose 500gm per week. But I am think of making up some mini goals for each 2kg lost. That should be once per month. Something like a new pair of earrings or something i'm thinking :)

my daughter sent me two pairs of earrings about 3 weeks ago,she had 7 hours day leave and she wanted too send me something as a way of thanking me for everything ive done for her while shes been away, she would only say she needed something and I would have it sent off too her, shes only got one more night out bush,im sorry about keeping on about it but its always on my mind...
your children are a lot younger than mine and your got all this too come..:-)
and as we age as I have over the last few years it really starts too get interesting watching them grow and become adults...

I love life and love the life my children are going too have...
