Well I started off very slowly because i had not exercised in a very very long time.
walking for 20 mins a day, was my first form of exercise and also the walk away the pounds DVD I started off with the 1 mile and graduated to 3 mile slowly.

I worked up to walking 1 hr a day slowly over a few months .Then when I felt stronger I decided to join a fitness centre curves for women only check out the link for some idea of it. I love it and the people who run my curves in Bentleigh are fantastic. http://www.curves.com

I also started swimming back at the beginning of Nov. Very slowly at first I'd walk 1/2 a lap and then do side stroke or breast stroke. over the last 2 months I have become able to swim freestyle for an hour and do about 34 laps of a 25 metre pool over 1 hr. I'm still slow, but Rome wasnt built in a day I guess  .

On the weekends I still walk an hour if I havent made it to curves or the pool due to work..

I cant believe I love exercise so much now, I could never have imagined myself doing 3 days of curves and 2 to 3 days swiming a week plus 1 to 2 days walking for an hour in a week If my life depended on it 12 months ago. But I guess my life does depend on it so that was my motivation..

I'm also about to purchase a cross trainer for those days when its raining or I cant be bothered leaving the house. Also to give my body a bit of a shake up so it doesnt get to used to the same kind of exercise.

hope I havent prattled on to much, but answered your question
[no excuses, I can do it!

You have answered my questions perfectly.
I am very proud of what you have done and I know that I can do it too.
I am not afraid of the excercise as much as the needing to make better food choices.

I too have to stop the negative thought patterns that are in my head constantly.
It is like I am at war with myself.

So, once I can start to get over those hurdles - or even see the scales go down just a bit it should spur me on more.

Thanks heaps :P

my first weigh in

Postby BubblyMac » Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:35 pm

Hey Deb - that is really great you are under 100kgs. I can't even remember the last time I weighed that less. You go girl!!

This is my first weigh in. This morning jumped on the scales .. and oh my god! Definately my heaviest and most uncomfortabalist - 131.6 kgs.

I've stuck to my diet-scrap that, the new me/new lifestyle today and i'm doing well. Chatting on here to you girls instead of filling my face with really bad nibbles/chocolate is definately much better. But drinking my 2 litres of water is definately keeping me feel really full that I don't feel like snacking at all.

Can't wait to see how I go at next week's weigh in :!: :?: HOpefully a kilo or two lighter! :D

Have a great week everybody!

Last week - 75.2 kg
This week - 75.0 kg

I'm a little bit disapointed, I was 74.9 kg 2 days ago and I did all the right things, exercise and calorie counting  . Well, as long as I loose weight I'm not going to complain.
