Hi girls and boys!
My name is Lauren, I’ve just turned 25 and I’m a full time uni student and carer. I began my course (occupational therapy) in 04 and although I loved it immediately, it was a massive change of lifestyle for me as I also quit my full time job, moved out of home and in with a new boyfriend, and had little money for proper food or time and energy to exercise as I was always either studying/at uni/working 30 hours a week. I was unhappy in my old job so the change was just what I needed, but all the other influencing factors made my weight skyrocket. I’m 163cm and used to be a 55kg gymnast and sport aerobic champion. At my heaviest I was 76kg, I’m now 71ish after just being in a wedding. The wedding was fantastic but the pix prove that I’m still not comfortable with myself – socially, mentally, physically etc. I’ve been a guest on this site for a couple weeks and it seems like a fantastic, supportive, inspirational, positive community, one that I think I’ll benefit from and might help distract me when I crave junk food or chocolate. I ride my bike to the all-chicks gym and cook more healthy food with my boy. It’s all good, but I just need to keep going!
Looking forward to chatting and swapping stories with everyone.
