Hello all; I am trying once more to lose a lot of weight I have accumulated following giving up smoking; and also I am getting older and probably less active than I should be. I am 62 and finding weight loss is so much harder than it used to be is exercise :roll: I have started walking of a morning and am going to try meal replacement to kick start the health effort and I thought that contact with a forum might be helpful in maintaining motivation.

it just goes to show whether you are younger or older it doesnt matter you can still choose to do something about your health. best wishes and sing out if you need anyhing :)

hi robyn, welcome aboard!

WELL DONE for giving up smoking. that is hands down the BEST thing you can do for your health. the links between smoking and cancer, lung disease, heart disease, vascular disease, strokes and other conditions are well established... you are at far greater risk being a skinny smoker than an overweight non-smoker!

good luck with losing the weight and becoming more active. walking is a great idea to get some exercise going :) a few members of the forum are on meal replacements so you might be able to get advice from them :)

Hi Robyn and welcome to the forum! Congrats on giving up smoking! If you can do that I'm sure you have the willpower required to get the eating and exercise under control!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
