is I am a married 40 yr old mum of 3 children. They were all born only 2 yrs apart, and my youngest is 2 1/2. We have been trying for another baby for nearly 2 yrs, and in that time, let me say that I have basically forgotten about looking after myself, just wanting this new baby so much. I am 5'2 and currently weigh 70 kilos, the heaviest I have ever been. I only have a small frame so my excess weight I have put on seems so much. I have basically bulked up all over through lack of regular exercise besides walking, and not eating that great either. Each month of trying for a baby, I say to myself that if I could only get pregnant, I won't have to worry so much about getting fit right now. Ha, totally the wrong attitude. During the last 7 months, I have had two miscarriages, which has floored me, because I have really put on weight through bad habits. So it has been very emotional and I find myself indulging in comfort foods and lots of alcohol, too much really lately because I have been so upset over losing the babies. So that's my story, I can't believe I have basically let myself go so much that I am now overweight, look terrible, feel tired and grumpy all the time, and lack enthusiam. So now I am going to do something about it. We would like another child but I can't keep on neglecting my health just hoping for that one miracle (when we were trying to conceive, I did try to eat healthy etc so I wasn't bad all the time!!!) My husband is starting to notice too and he is very supportive of what I want to do. Before kids, I was fit and slim and healthy and looked great (think it may be the kids doing it to me!!) I am determined to make a change for the better, my lifestyle not just a flash in the pan thing. I need some support from those of you who have been at the starting gate like me. I would like to get down to 60 kilos, as my goal, is this a realistic weight to lose - 10 kilos - in 3 months, do you think? I enjoy walking and want to get my moutain bike out, and join the gym to do some weights to tone up. And of course change my eating habits, does this sound familiar to you? Sorry for the long post, but I need to act NOW. Thankyou all.
