Not sure how this is gunna go.

I'm Jane, 22 and have made the weightloss promise to myself so may times, and have let myself down each time. Sooo sitting down tonight and nutting out the finer points of what I want to do and how I'm gunna go about doing it.

I've been reading through a few post's and have found some totally valuable tips and tricks already (I'm sipping my water with slices of orange in it as we speak).

Checked the scales today, they say 90kg...i was a bit suprised, as last time I looked a few months ago it said 92 which did feel a little bit nice, but for my height, I'm looking at losing about 35kgs.

I'm thinking of keeping a food diary as a starter...any other suggestions?

Hope you all had a really great chrissie/new years break :)

Luv Jane

hi jane :)

I too am 22 well 23 this year :) and i started out on 89.5 or something when i joined this forum. I am currently around 80kgs :) hoping to get to 70 or 65 as my goal.

its such a great forum, the support and friendships you make are very special :)

and just getting tips from other people about foods, exercise etc is great

starting with a food diary is a great start :) it helped me a lot.

also there is the Calorie King site, where you can record your calorie intake :) that also helped me.

if you need any tips or someone to chat to, i would be happy to help.

also i use msn too alot, so if u are ever on it :) drop us a line or watever you drop :)

Welcome to the forum, Jane!

I'll echo Rachel's recommendation of the Calorie King website.

Another thing that's helped me is dividing my plate up at lunch and evening meals. Half of the plate is dedicated to vegetables and salad, a quarter is for carbs and the remaining quarter is for protein and healthy fats. I now crave vegetables all the time - something I never thought was possible!

Good luck!

Thanks for the calorieking website guys, had a quick look at some of the recipies and they sound yummy :)

A vegetable addiction would be verrry handy indeed.

Fortunately my dad is in produce so I can get my hands on heaps of fruit and veg , but actually using it is the key hey.

I also smoke and tomorrow is my quit day as well as diet day...Im feeling a little nervous, however I will give it my best shot. Im trying to look at losing weight as a lifestlye change, not so much a we'll see how I go.

best of luck with your wieght loss - you can do it!
