New Year and all that...

Postby Gal Friday » Wed Jan 02, 2008 3:42 pm

Hi all,

Am new, so wanted to say hi! I have been looking for a forum to discuss my "Weight loss" issues, and have just found your little community!

So it is a new year and more importantly it is summer and I am feeling motivated. Trying to STAY motivated is the issue, especially when you hit winter in Canberra!

I am trying to decide if I should renew my gym membership, if I should join Weight Watchers (again) with my partner and what other alternatives there are. Am reading AJ Rochester's book "Confessions of a reformed dieter" and it is really motivating. Am wondering if anyone else has read it, has tried her plans etc etc?

Anyway, off to browse the forum!

Welcome!

A while ago I've declared to myself, that weather is no excuse! When we were having heavy rain here in Sydney a couple of months ago, I whacked on a rain jacket and went running when it was pouring down! When you look out the window at less-than-desireable weather, it becomes an excuse.

Just think to yourself "I'm crazy, I'm determined, I'm going to feel great after this"

Anyway, enough motivational ramblings!

You are so right! We were doing so well at goign to the gym at 6am in the first half of last year. It just worked for us! But then winter hit and Canberra is a bit dark and gloomy in winter and it became harder and harder. I need to NOT do that this year! What a waste of money (amonst other things!).
