Another Newbie Post Gastric Banding

Postby marina64 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:36 pm

Hi Everyone,
I had Gastric banding done about 6 months ago, and have lost 30 kgs to date, but have slowed down lately and need some pick me up encouragement!! Also I have lost the weight without much exercise effort, and am wondering if it's time to hit the gym...
Anyway, from everything I've read in this forum, you seem like a great bunch of people!!
Thanks
:D

Welcome!

WOW! 30kg! Thats fantastic!! How much more do you have to lose? How restrictive is your diet with the banding? I have heard that its sometimes quite limited in what you can eat?

Well if your after support this is the right place! Everyone here is great and full of advice, support and knowledge!

Thanks Nikki,
It's always great to be encouraged!
Yes, gastric banding is very limiting in what you can eat, but I can eat just about anything, only in very small quantities! :)
I still have at least 25 kgs to lose, and am now finding my weight loss has slowed down considerably. Also I am coming up on my birthday and didn't quite make it to the goal I has set for myself! :(
Ah well, thanks for your words!
Marina

Don't be discouraged for not reaching a certain goal by a certain time! Trust me. I have set goals for each birthday since my 21st and I am 32 now!!!

You have done so well already! 30kg is an 8 year old!! so thats an awesome loss!!

Maybe set yourself small goals say 5kg goals without time frames. That's the way I am doing it. I have 2.2kg to my first 5kg loss and once I get there I am getting a new charm for my Pandora bracelet.

Have you rewarded yourself for the 30kg you have already lost? You deserve it!!

Thanks Nikki! :)
Your reply made me smile!
I am being rewarded all the time for my weight loss, but seeing as it is my birthday in a couple of days I am rewarding myself tonight with shopping for smaller sized clothes - yay!
Thanks again for your great words!
