Hi! New here

Postby jayarthur » Sat May 06, 2006 2:08 pm

Hi everyone,
I've just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I am 26 and I am on the tf program. So far I have lost 7.5kg and my goal is to lose another 18.5kg by October, to get back to my old weight. I'm pretty motivated but somewhat impatient as I wish I was at my goal weight already. But its a process, and it will happen.

Hello Jayarthur and welcome to the forum.

Well done on your loss to date you are doing great. I too get a bit impatient but keep reminding myself it took years to put it on so it will take a while to take it off!

Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum, Jay.

I am on the TF program too, and it would be great if you joined us on our thread, to share experiences with each other.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been on the program? I've only just started and would like to see how long it's taken others on the same program to lose weight, so I can get a better idea for myself.

Thanks for your input and feel free to chat with us any time.

Hayley.

Welcome to the forum, JayArthur,

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far. I think we are all in the same boat, being impatient, if only our weight came off as easily as it went on!

Good luck on your weightloss journey, you'll get there,
catch you in the forum,
Angel

Hi again Jay,

I couldn't help but notice your goal weight is 45kg - is that correct? That's a very low target weight, how tall are you?

I also noticed that , it's your own choice to be 45kg but speaking from my point of view, I'm 48kg, 5'1 and a size 6-8 and think unless you are at least 1 or 2 inches shorter than me you really shouldn't go any lower than my weight. I've lost 33 kg which is 10kg more than my goal weight and am struggling to keep my weight up now. Because just as there are health risks for being bigger, there are health risks for being underweight too.

Sorry for being so bossy, I'm just concerned about you

Hi there,
I'm only 5 foot, so its within my healthy weight range and what I used to be before I gained the weight. But I'll aim for 50 to start with and then see how I go.

Good on you Jayarthur. I told my doc last week I was on a programme and exercising etc he was very pleased. I am 5 foot 2 (157cm) and am aiming for 55kg. He said go for 60kg see how you feel and then go for the extra if you still want to. According to the BMI 55 for me is in the middle of the healthy range.
