I AM NEW HERE....

Postby Jayne » Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:36 pm

Hi all,
My name is Jayne and i am from the mid north in South Australia.
I have recently lost 8 kilograms on the Atkins Diet but it left me with
no energy so i will try healthy eating and exercise. I currently weigh
73.1 kilograms and want to get to 55 kilograms by Christmas (i am only 5 foot tall).
I put on a lot of weight following the death of my husband in 2001. I have since met
a wonderful man and we are engaged and getting married in February 2009,
so i want to look my best by then. I am looking forward to getting to
know you all through this great website.
Bye for now, Jayne

Hi Jayne, welcome aboard! Losing 20kg by christmas is a BIG goal - losing 1-2kg per month is usually considered the wisest aim when you are aiming for "maintainable" weight loss. It's great to have high aims but it might be good to break it down into 5kg minigoals along the way so you can reward yourself as you go?

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding :) I'm sure you will be a beautiful bride!

Thanks girls, breaking it down into 5 kg increments is a great
idea, it doesn't sound so daunting that way. I thought 1 kg
weight loss a week is achievable but i will be happy to lose
10 kg by Christmas. It is 17 and a bit weeks to go. Thanks
once again for your encouraging words.
