A newbie to the forum... but an oldie at being overweight!

Postby Laura_K » Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:16 am

Hi everyone,

My first post in the forum and I thought here would be a good place to start! I am 29 yrs old and overweight :( I have been for all my adult life. Have tried many unsuccessful times to change that but now I find myself at the heaviest point in my life.

This time next week I will have been married for a year! In the (i hope not too distant) future we are planning to start a family, so I want to take this opportunity to try and get myself healthy, not only for me but my future family. Also a nice motivator is my 30th next year.. for which I have always wanted a costume party but definately would not be having one at this weight.

I joined WW but haven't been for about 2 months due to my work committments (and my own lack of committment!) I also have a gym membership which I am not using (just due to being slack!). My plan is to get them out of the cupboard in an effort to reinvent my weight loss journey.

I look forward to getting to know everyone :)

I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss... :)

Cheers,

Hey there Laura. I've been working my weight for 3 weeks now and trying to change my habits. Changing habits is one of the most important things. Try hard and eventually it will pay off. Remember, the human body needs 21 days to get used to changes, so the first 3 weeks will be pretty rocky.

Good luck on your quest, and welcome to the forums!
