I'm new to the forum and looking to meet some weight loss friends so we can support each other through our weight loss journeys
I'm 29 and from Bunbury WA. I've just started out on a lifestyle change program (we're not allowed to use the word diet) and it seems pretty good. Moderation is the key on this plan. It's actually proving to be a bit of a challenge for me the whole concept of moderation because my background is almost as a professional yo-yo dieter...I'm always on the wagon or completely off the wagon, not really ever anywhere inbetween. At the moment I'm a size 20 and weigh 96kg. My goal is to lose 36kg during the next 12 months. I'm going the long, sensible & steady approach this time to make real lasting changes in my life. I've done all the fad diets. I previously lost 38kg on a very restrictive diet through sheer willpower and chain smoking but within a year and a half it all came back on. My metabolism was shot. I've since given up smoking too so my weight is the only obstacle left standing between me and my health. I'm only 29 but I feel like I've just been sitting watching the years slip by without getting up from the couch and actually getting involved in life. So that's where I'm at now, I'm getting up and into it and it scares the hell out of me but this is what I want to do and I would love to meet a friend or two to share the journey with.
