Just wanted to say hello :D

Hi there fellow soldiers,

I would like to introduce myself as I too am fighting the war against weight!

Below is just a little bit about me:

I have always been a little over weight since childhood. It got progressively worse right through my teenage years and into my adult life... I am now 20 and weigh 113 kgs. I have always been unhappy with my weight but everytime I attempt to diet I try to push myself to far to fast and will fall back into old habits.

I have a very supportive boyfriend who I have been with for 3 years and who loves me veery much. He wants me to be healthy and happy with myself. I am constantly asking him for reassurance that I look ok and I think that I should be able to judge that by myself...

The big knock on the head thou which has made me realise that something NEEDS to be done against my weight is that my dad sat me down and said is one year of hard work losing weight worth having an extra 5 - 10 years of your life?

I have now commited myself for a diet to get down to 65kgs and to be commited to this for a minumum of 6 months..

I have now lost 4.3 kgs (from 117.3 to 113.0) and am staying strong!

Anyway liten to me rabit on, In the end I wouls like to say it is a pleasure to meet you all!

Welcome to the forum, it can be hard losing weight over a long period of time- most of us start great lose weight then slow down and get annoyedand eventually stop, the trick is learning to keep going. Motivation is the key and you will have a better chance while chatting to others who are in the same boat. I am sure you will get to your goal but do you have mini goals? Its hard to see the end when its so far away but if you just aim to lose 5kg, then before you know it you have reached a goal, your then motivated to lose the other 5kg and the next and next... before you know it your at your goal weight! Anywone would think i have made it already but still going- have lost 15kg though which has been great

12/01/09- 81kg
19/01/09- 80kg
09/02/09- 79.3kg
Next goal 75kg

Thanks for all of your kind words...

I do have a goal which is to loose 1 kg every week... I also have a goal to walk every evening from the train station... I do have mini things that I do to help me achieve my goals...

Its best to aim for 500g to 1kg, if you say you want to lose 1kg every week and you dont lose that every week your more likely to get disapointed and want to give up. Its great to have goals but better to have small goals so that they are much more achievable.
