Newbie From Sydney

Postby Riayn » Sun May 10, 2009 4:11 pm

Hi!

I'm a thirtysomething geek girl from Sydney. I am also a self confessed couch potato and I made a promise to myself at the beginning of the year to lose weight and improve my fitness. So far I have lost 10kg and reduced my body fat % by 10%. However, I find myself losing motivation so I have joined up to be inspired and regain my motivation to continue my weight loss.

Looking forward to chatting to you all. :D

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

alisvolatpropriis, I have done it through a diet consisting of mainly fresh whole foods. If it comes in box or lasts more than a week, I don't eat it. Also, I have exercised pretty much every day and am currently doing Kung Fu and CrossFit. I used to hate exercising, but I have come to love it.
Basically, I had to change my whole lifestyle, but it has been worth it.

I am definitely not looking any bigger even though I am putting on muscle and toning up. Instead I am looking a bit leaner and can actually see some abs forming, which is lovely.
However, if my diet was crap and I was putting on muscle under my layers of fat, then I can definitely see that I would be looking bigger.

Glad to hear that you are still doing tkd. I am just loving martial arts and it is a great form of exercise.

hmmm... well I am working on the diet - do you think if by losing the layer of fat (or at least some of it) more muscles will show through :D

yeah i agree - trained for about an hour and a half yesterday - felt awesome afterwards!

how many times a week do you train?

I do martial arts three times a week (6 hours) and CrossFit about twice a week. I also walk my dogs for an hour a day about 4-5 times a week.
I am doing my best to keep active every single day as I have found that this is the best way for me to lose weight.
