Hi to glad to have found this forum

Postby monkiea » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:54 pm

Hi!! I'm not really sure what I'm meant to say here. I'll start with the reason I'm here: I'm 25 and can't seem to stay on track with food and exercise. It's not from lack of time or knowledge, I'm just so stuck with emotional eating. I hear about emotional eating a lot (I'm also inclined to believe that my emotional eating is possibly linked to addiction to sugar highs etc and habits) but have never encountered methods for dealing with it effectively. I wonder if my level of commitment is hindered by the addictive bit???
I also wonder if I make excuses for myself because I find it so hard to stay on track.
Anyway, I hope to gain some insight from others on this forum. I NEED HELP!!! I can't do it on my own.
Thanks for reading, hope to chat soon!

Hi Monica,
I also believe that difficulty with food has a lot more to do than just with our emtions. It's an addiction for some. I know it is for me.
Best of luck and I hope you can find the motivation you need to stave off the high-sugar food.

Hi monica, welcome, good luck with you weightloss and everyone here is here to support you.

I belive that being "addicted" to sugar or salty fatty foods is not the case, I belive it is tied to our emotions like you say, if your going through an emotional time, these food are comforting (well they are for me) when my dog died I went and ordered a large pizza from pizza hut (deep pan and all) and ate it all myself and then snacked on a whole packet of m&m's.

Also their is a link wiht eating salty foods and sugary food, if you eat salty foods it makes you crave sugary foods, not good either way

good luck
