Been a loser for a while now...

Postby Garfield » Tue Aug 22, 2006 7:09 pm

Hi everybody
I've been a loser for a while... I lost a bit over 20kg a few years ago... took me almost an entire year to do that though. I started uni at the beginning of this year and basically slacked right off. My metabolism looked after me for the first semester of pizza, pies and copious amounts of alcohol. It's starting to catch up with me now, however. I've gained 2 or 3 kg recently and my fitness has gone to hell.
Anyways, I've joined the gym and am trying my best to eat healthy. I only want to lost 3kg, which is not so much of a big deal.
I live in Canberra, study at ANU. If anyone here goes to the ANU gym I would love to have a work out buddy.

Hey Garfield I am at ANU as well, in my 3rd year of a 5 year degree.

I am thinking about joining a gym, but was thinking instead to join Fernwood in Belconnen because it is a bit closer to home (I don't live on campus). Problem is they say their pricing 'starts' at $20 a week and thats pushing my budget a bit :( How much was the ANU gym?

I got 3 months membership $70. That's just for access to the gym and equipment and stuff, I'm not sure about the classes. I also got a program done for $50 so I'd at least know how to use some of the scary looking machines.
I wanted to join the Fernwood in civic... I guess that would be a great way to lose weight coz then I wouldn't be able to afford to eat lol.
Whatcha studying?

Combined Commerce & Law - how about you?

$70 for 3 months sounds ok, but given it doesn't include classes and is unisex and you dont get a free healthy breakfast, free toiletries yada yada I think I might go with fernwood, even if it is $240 compared to $70...
