New - CW 165kgs need some buddies and advice

Postby helpme2lose » Wed Sep 09, 2009 6:41 pm

Hi

I am new to the forum and starting my weight loss journey (hopefully with the help of some new buddies here on the forum) at 165kgs with a goal of 70kgs. I am a 5'8" female 36 years old with a lovely young family and would love to chat with people who have lost a huge amount of weight (over 50kgs if there are any out there) and some still on the same journey as I am so you can offer me your wisdom in how to lose this semingly overwhelming amount of weight. I would love some online buddies that I can support and be supported by so if anyone is out there who thinks they could help me I would love to hear from you. :D

WOW! 113kgs How on earth did you do it? I don't mean to be offensive at all but I really mean how did you do it - surgery, a particular weight loss program, 'just' eating well??? I am sooo impressed - no matter how it was done.

I am a bit concerned about excess skin - how did you find it and what did you do about it? I know this is a really personal question but I don't have anyone else to ask - I have a 'skinny' family and am the odd woman out with my problem...

No worries helpme2lose :) .
Ive just done it through plain old fashioned healthy food and daily exercise, no shakes, no pills, no patches, no fad diets, just watching what I eat and making sure I get some daily exercise in.

Excess skin hasnt been a problem for me, dont get me wrong I dont have the trim, toned bod of an 18 year old, my belly is a little flabby but that is belly fat not loose skin and my arms and thighs could use some toning but for now getting rid of the last couple of kilos is more of a priority to me. The toning and finishing touches will come later 8) .

If you need a natter or just some general support or anything give me a yell, either through the forum or just message me :) .

Once again best of luck.

Thanks Curvy Girl

I am going to need all the support and motivation people can offer me. I can't wait for a few months to pass so I can start seeing some results. I wonder how long this is going to take - that is the bit I find the most daunting.

Mind you my mum started a doctorate degree when she was 34 and nearly didn't because she realised that she would be 40 before she finished but then someone said to her 'well if you don't do it how old will you be in 6 years?' and she realised that her age shouldn't be what held her back as either way she was going to be 40 in 6 years so she could either be 40 without a doctorate or 40 with one and we know which one she chose. I try and use that perspective with this weight loss. Either way in 4 years I will be 40 - fat or thin.....
