1st time forum + weightloss ...

Postby tasha1117 » Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:23 pm

Hey all,

Well here I am, starting out on my long journey on the road to weightloss. Its been one week now, and Im probably due for a weigh in but want to leave it as long as I can ... dont want to be come a scales junkie lol.

I have never used a bog/forum before so there is alot to learn, but Im glad I found this site for some added support and advice.

I haven't always had issues with my weight but since losing my leg to cancer its been alot harder to control. In the last 2 years I have ballooned to a whopping 90kgs, which is the biggest I have ever been.

P.S Would be also awesome to hear from someone else who might be in the same boat as me (amputee), as its not easy finding cardio exercises that dont involve walking/running lol

hello and welcome Tasha!

I too joined this forum only recently. I hit my highest weight ever of 90kgs only a few weeks ago. I'm part way through my second week on here. Its been a great resource so far.

Sorry a can't help you with any none leg cardio exercises. I have seen a machine at a gym once where you use your arms on bike pedals - but not many gyms have those. I have a friend who has lost both his legs - he does alot of cardio in a specail wheelchair though. (Sorry not very helpful).

Best of luck on your journey!

Hi Tasha and welcome to the forum :)

Everyone here is really supportive and nice, I think you'll enjoy it!

I'm not too sure about different cardio exercises you can do, but have you considered swimming? It's starting to warm up now and it would be the perfect time to start.

All the best, keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome to the forum Tasha!!!

Sorry but like the others I can't help you with the cardio :? BUT have you tried to visit calorie king? I use it and its great for counting your calories. I know when I was lazy and didn't exercise, but kept on top of my calories, I still lost the weight. There are lots of other members who use this and swear by it! Might be worth checking out!

I look forward to reading more of your posts :)
