kick starting with optislim

Postby Bron74 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 3:35 pm

Hi everyone,
I've placed an order on the net for optislim, which was so much cheaper than the chemist. I've never been one to do shakes as I've thought it's not enough for your body, etc. But after talking to Dr today he says they are full of all the requirements for your body and you can do it for a reasonable amount of time. Well I was going to do it full on for 2 weeks to kick some off this weight off and get me motivated to lose the rest. If I think it works then I may continue the shakes way and replace 2 meals etc.
I'm fine with the exercise i go for a half hr walk in the morning before hubby or daughter wake up. Just need to concentrate on doing shakes only and no coffee or alcohol I've decided as well. if I'm going to do this, I'm doing it properly as we are trying to conceive No 2 and losing some weight may help with that.

All your stories have been so motivating, keep up the great work everyone!!!!!!

I have realised I've bought the wrong ones, I was meant to get the optifast. So I will use up what I get once it's delivered, (I want it now!!!) and then go onto opti fast as I got them mixed up. Two weeks will make a big difference surely, good luck Aylilth!!!

Hi Guys.
I am using Optifast... and have been doing it for a couple of weeks now. Yes I am losing weight with it... only doing 2 shakes a day. But sometimes I do miss food!!!
I am not sure why you can't have caffeine with it tho - anyone know?
It's working for me and I will continue for a while longer but I know it is not a long term solution and I will have to go back to eating soon enough (make sense?)
Cheers :D

Well we should keep this thread open then.

List what flavours are good, are the bars ok, the soups, and desserts etc.

I still have a bit of time before I start but I will be reading and encouraging.

Hey there Meegs, I imagine you do miss food doing it. But I don't want any food as I'm sick of reaching for it for no reason, I'm over having no control!!! I lost 10kg's doing ww, (since sept '08)I love ww it's fantastic, when u do it properly and I can't seem to get in the right head space at the moment. But I seriously need to get to shake some weight off to help keep me motivated or I'll just keep putting the weight back on, which of course I don't want.

I ordered vanilla shakes and a chicken soup, we'll see how they are and will let u know. Off to work now for the day, have a good one!

I just had 1 cup of my vegies as I'm really feeling it and it wasn't even the middle of the afternoon!!!! I'm sure I've had 2l of water already but I am a big water drinker. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing.
Anyway looking forward to trying vanilla tonight.

hi there. oops- i meant optifast, too. easy mistake-but i reckon there wouldnt be much difference anyhow.well i was on the intensive phase for 2 weeks ( shakes and bars only!) but was recommended on their site to go on transition phase- so i get a light meal in the evening. expect losses of 500gm-1kg a week(hopefully!) also tols if the hunger is TOO much to snack on protein ( chicken, tuna, beans). seems to be working for me. hope you hang in there bron-it's worth it to see those numbers plummet.! good luck. :)

Well I got through day 1. I went to bed hungry which worried me as I thought I wouldn't sleep or I'd wake up starving. I haven't had my shake yet and I don't feel hungry, weird. I took all my measurements yesterday so it will be interesting to see how they go.
Beautiful day here in Adelaide I'm heading out for a walk to the beach shortly but I don't want to walk too fast in these 1st few days as I'd probably pass out!!!

I felt terrible yesterday at the end of day 2, almost that black out, dizzy stage. i ended up desperately eating a 300g jar of asparagus which helped a little. Today has been heaps better it helped having 2 sm serves of diet jelly and my vegies for the day eaten spread out in the afternoon. So end of Day 3 feeling a little more confident I CAN do this!!

I think its just that caffine makes you retain fluid.

I have started opti slim, but only two a day, and a normal dinner. I dont think I could handle three a day! I dont think there is much diff between optifast and opti slim, i think they both have all the nutrient requirements.

Bron74, you don't have to starve yourself to lose weight! And dizzy spells are NOT good! I have lost nearly 50kg eating real food, and I don't go hungry. Check out www.calorieking.com.au, it can educate you on how much you can eat to lose weight, and I guarantee you, it's a lot more than you think!

Czarina you are an inspiration. I am starting where you were at now and thinking I should kick start with Optifast but cannot stomach shakes or tolerate dairy. I just want to learn how to eat properly forever. I will go check out calorie king. Thanks Rach x
