HI All,
Just joined although I started my diet and exercise plan a week ago. I am 61 and have RA and I walk with a frame. My starting weight was 129kgs and I'm 163cm tall..or should that be short.
I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.I have decided I want to be around to see them turn 21.My grandson is about to turn 5 and my grandaughter is 4 mths.
Luckily I have genes on my side to be around into my late 90's but with my weight as it was.. what quality of life at that age would I have.
So I'm up for action.
In my younger days I was heavily involved in sport but my nursing career made sport on a set day of the week a near impossibility.
Once I had my children my weight just didn't come off and I must admit they were my focus and anyone who didnt like me because of my weight wasn't worth wasting time on.
I'm doing this FOR ME and I guess thats the best motivation.
So here I am 1 week into my plan and I have lost 5kgs
I now walk 2500 steps 3 times a week... the first time I tried that I had to have 4 stops but now I can do it in one go.
If I can do it anyone can
Cheers

Thanks miss_viva ali76 and starr 22 for the welcome and encouragement.
Hardest part is staying off the scales...I am determined I will only weigh once a week.
The dropping iced coffee and pepsi max has helped I think.
Somewhere I saw if you exercise in the morning you loose more weight so I have been doing that
Other than that the biggest change is eating breakfast, havent done that in years
Cheers
