Hey!...How are you?

Postby OhSheGlows » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:46 am

Just a brief intro to say hello, I’m new and I’m looking for a community where I can share my journey and share in others journey to weight loss.
How I got here I hear you ask? Well I was quite active once upon a time, enjoying healthy eating, exercising and running with my husband. I ended up with a fractured foot that hasn’t quite healed. I got a bit depressed about it all, ate too much food with lots and lots of chocolate – who doesn’t love chocolate? It’s my ultimate comfort food. Anyway stopped all exercise and the end result was 7kgs gain weight since October last year. My clothes are too tight or don’t fit me at all, my skin is breaking out and worst of all I am feeling really unhealthy.
After having a little sook, I decided to turn things around and get back into my healthy lifestyle. I then bought a journal (cause I’m a journaling type of girl) I’ve put my action plan in place to lose the 7kgs , I’ve written my goals and joined a gym (anyone go to fernwood?) and found myself on this forum after searching for some weight loss articles(don’t ask my why I just did lol) and reading posts and wanting to join. So here I am.
So much for my brief intro. I look forward to joining in when I can.
Cheers, Oh She Glows

Hey hun!

Welcome :) Im a newbie too!

Thanks for coming on and sharing your story - very brave. I am a journalling kind a gal as well, i love venting through it! The hardest part is starting, and you will be AMAZED by how quickly you feel healthier and better about yourself. Even after the first three or so days i was walking taller, because i knew that i could do it!

As for the chocky - as you said - dont we all?! This has been a big issue for me, as i love love love it - and ofcourse it doesnt help that the day after christmas and for the next 4 months the supermarket, my mail box (catalogues), and bill boards have all been filled with chocky! I have found one savior in nestle diet chocolate mousse - and also with chocolate paddle pops - both are under 100 calories and can help with cravings as well as being really yummy - they are a staple in my shopping trolley now!

Good luck on your journey, looking forward to reviewing your progress and cheering you on!

Hey DietMeHappy, thanks so much for the warm intro.

I have to go back to my old trick of eating 80% Lindt Chocolate, one small square would satisfy alllll my chocolate needs. Then during my "break" i discovered my old time love of snickers boy has it been hard to break the need to munch on a bar with my afternoon coffee, the vending machine at work has been calling me but i'm fighting it.

haha i soooo know that feeling, its so hard. Im sturggling right now with that very same problem. Especially since i size 6 girl just went up and got a mars bar - DAMMIT!!! I have been trying to have a lollypop in the afternoon at work, it lasts so long that i cant even be bothered eating something else after! I went to weight watchers once with a girl who used to bring in her toothbrush to work, and brush her teeth around three pm so she wouldnt crash and burn...whatever works!! :)
