Best advice I've been given

Hi everyone,
I have been losing weight for the past 35 years and then gaining it again!!
I have tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Dr Cohans, Gloria Marshall, and other groups now not functioning
as well I have tried the diet shakes, soup diet, accupuncture - almost everything except surgery.
As my cholesterol was 7, my doctor sent me to a dietician.
I have been to dieticians before so I was sceptical to say the least.

About me...I'm 55, female 173cm tall and now 103.7kg.
This dietician has given me the best advice...ever...and it WORKS!!!
As I was already eating a good diet, she made some minor changes the first week
but I didnt lose much weight.
So she diagnosed the common problem of insulin resistance.
I must eat protein with every meal AND snack.
This slows the absorbtion of sugar and what I eat doesnt get stored.
My body is very efficient in storing fat.
So far I have slowly lost 5kg of fat - no fluid - 3'' off my thighs
So what do I eat?
I eat cakes, biscuits.
BUT I put a special protein powder in with the flour and I also put fruit in the cakes.
I put it in casseroles, pizza bases, anything that has flour in it.
I put it with my cereal, just a spoonful. It makes the food really filling - saves money ie you dont eat as much.
I use the recipes in the "symply so good to be true" recipe books.
I go easy on the sugar in these recipes.
My local Health shop assisstant told me about the pea protein isolate.
It is totally vegetarian, gluten free and does not have an estrogenic effect on the body.
Estrogen helps the body store fluid and fat on the hips and thighs and bust.
IT IS BETTER to lose 12kgs a year than to lose 12kg in a month and then in a year still be 12kg heavier after puting it back on.
Be aware that a lot of meal replacements are made of Soy and there are a lot of ingredients which mean Soy but go under a different names.
Soy is bad for weight loss it actually puts the weight on when you stop the meal replacements as the estrogen is stored in your body fat.
I have found all this out by trial and error and my gynacologist backs this up. My blood tests were coming back as estrogen supplementation and I was only using the meal replacements. When I stopped, my estrogen levels began to drop slowly. High estrogen can be really bad as it can cause breast and ovarian cancer so I read labels very carefully.

The slower you lose the easiest for you to keep it of :)
