Losing the "other" me...

Postby bigboomba » Mon May 24, 2010 10:03 am

Hiya,

I'm bigboomba, 27y/o, and I am on a mission to lose half of myself. I have 55kilos to lose, this is gonna be a long slow process but I am looking forward to it very much.

I actually only really realized how bad it was when I stepped on the scales this morning and saw I weighed 110kgs. when the heck did that happen???

I can't blame it as being pregnancy weight either, I gained 6kgs with each pregnancy lol

Ahhhhhh dear me. Anyhow, I look forward to sharing my experiences and journey with you all.

Hi !! I have to lose half of me too lol. It seems overwhelmingly impossible when i think of the amount of weight i need to lose. I need to lose a whole person!

I know it isn't impossible though. I just need to eat and move... until i am where i want to be. I guess it will take me 1-2 years to lose this weight, i'm hoping to do it as fast as possible though hehe

I agree about losing it slowly! My mum has just lost 20kgs in a ridiculous amount of time. Some Dr's plan. She was borderline obese, but not huge. She basically starved herself (nice Dr huh?).

Good luck to you. Now I know there is someone on the boards who has the same amount of weight to lose as me, I will be keeping up with you around the boards! :)

Hi again

Yeah i wouldn't trust all DRS with weight loss. I would want to get advice from a specialist in dietary needs. It took me a long time to come to the conclusion that i don't have to take everything a doctor says as gospel. I didn't even think to question them in the past, now i do a bit of my own thinking as well as taking their advice on board. If what they are saying doesn't sound right, i'll get a second opinion.

I have starved myself before and it only did me damage. You can't sustain it and you aren't just losing fat... you are losing muscle, bone, tissue, and just about everything else in your body. Then you end up with things like gall stones and damaged organs! No thanks!!

I will keep an eye out for your progress, what day do you weigh yourself? You should post up your weekly results on here. Even if you have a small loss or a gain... it seriously helps to have someone acknowledge it and either congratulate you... or encourage you to keep going.

:D
