Just saying hi!

Postby Franklin » Tue Oct 10, 2006 5:58 pm

Hi, I'm new so I just thought I'd say hi. I'm 20 and after talking to my doctor have decided to lose some weight. I managed to put on about 13kg in the past three years after starting uni and leaving home etc. I'm now 68kg which is about 6-8kg overweight for my height. I'm aiming to get down to 56kg which is what my doc thinks will be good but I think I'll be happy to get down to 60. I've lost 0.5kg this week and I'm feeling pretty good about that. Looking forward to losing more.

welcome along!

Sounds like you're doing really well.

Can you tell us a bit more about what you are doing to lose weight - are you on a specific diet, have you made more general eating changes, what kind of exercise are you doing, etc. It really helps and motivates us all to know what people are doing that gets results!

Good luck, you sound like you're doing great!

Well I'm following the weight watchers plan and I'm on 20 points a day. I lost about 10kg a few years back on WW, but this time I'm not going to the meetings due to lack of money etc. I'm also making sure I exercise more than I used to. I go for a half hour walk/jog every morning now and sometimes in the afternoons too. I've lost 1.5kg in 2 weeks so far!

That is excellent weightloss Franklin!! Keep up the great work!! There are a few WW people here too, so if you get stuck with the program I am sure they won't mind helping you with the WW stuff!! :P . Financially it does add up doesn't it? I was a WW a few years back when it was $14 a week and that was hard enough to fit into a tight budget!! You seem to be doing great on your own, by following the program, I look forward to tracking your progress!!

Hi Franklin and welcome to the forum!!
It's funny how Uni seems to make weight pile on!! I used to use the excuse "but I don't have the time to exercise because of all the study I'm doing". Funny how I always managed the time to be home in time for M.A.S.H.

Now I'm working 6 days per week and am FAR busier that I was in honours at uni I'me managing heaps of exercise plus eating better. Hopefully I will keep that up when I go back to uni next year!

Anyway I digress, you've done so well so far, I can't wait to see you get all the way!
Cheers,
Tegan
