Hello, my name is Bel and I'm new!! I'm 26 years old and have just given birth to my first and only child 3 months ago. I only put on 4kgs during the pregnancy but I would like to lose the weight I put on before he was born.
I'm joined a gym and I'm trying to eat properly however I am a sucker for junk food and chocolate. I'm really struggling with the eating properly part of my new health plan.
But I'm hoping that I'll find the support I need from the new friends that I hopefully make here to pull me through my dark days.

Hi Bel
welcome to the group. :) you will find lots of support and encouragement here on the forum. feel free to join in the weigh ins and challenges. i had my first child a girl, 10 months ago and i know what its like to slip into bad habits when you are at home with a bub. as long as you are in the right frame of mind, you can discard those habits of eating a whole packet of tim tams in one sitting and only have one every so often!! for example anyway!

Hi Bel and welcome to the forum!
Kicking the junk habit is hard. It takes a few months to get into a new healthy habit, but once it happens it's soooo much easier. Nowadays when i slip up it's usually over 1 or 2 biscuits rather than 1 0r 2 packets of biscuits which makes a huge difference.

Try switching slowly to healthier options. I found instead of adding sugar to my breakfast (or eating sugary cereals), say, I would put on fruit like stewed apples or sultanas. If you NEED lollies or chocolate try carrying a little bag of dried fruit - dates are a fantastic chocolate substitute, or try switching to a higher cocoa chocolate (I have Lindt 85% cocoa - you can't eat it all in one sitting and it's healthier)

The trick is to do it slowly though, otherwise it's too much to change at once and you might get overwhelmed.
