I NEED HELP.....

Postby chocsuz » Sat Oct 21, 2006 2:56 pm

Hi my name is Yvette and I am 31 years old. I weight is 85kgs, and I am 175cm tall.

I am so depressed at the moment, my husband and I have been trying to have another child for over 2 years now, but due to PCOS, and weight issues we have had problems. We were about to start IVF yesterday, but on Thursday night I was rushed to hospital with pancreatitis, caused by gall stones. As a result we have to miss out.

This has made me realise that my diet and exercise need to be fixed before we can even think of having another child. My problem is that because I am depressed, I have lack of energy and motivation. I am hoping that with the aid of some support online, and a new outlook I might be able to overcome this.

So that is my story. I look forward to talking to others in the same situation, and hoping that some ideas of recipes, etc can be shared.

hi there yvette

so sorry to hear about you having to go to hospital - with all the stress of fertility treatment added on, no wonder you're feeling down!

I wish you the best of luck. As Kate said, losing weight definitely helps with fertility, especially with PCOS as you are less fertile to start with. But it can happen!

Good luck, I hope the forum helps you on your way!

Hi Yvette,
lack of energy can be one of the symptoms of depression, and depression is sadly very common, so at least you're not alone.

For me, working on my self esteem and confidence and happiness went hand in hand with my weight loss and not because being skinnier made me happier, but because the more confident I got, the more I got out and doing things, the more I did, the moire confident I got and the more I felt able to do the things that helped lose weight and so on. Hopefully you might experience the same.

The good thing is you have a good motivation behind you and with the support I am sure you will find on this forum, I think you have a good chance of losing a bit of that weight and hopefully adding a new bub to the family!

Cheers,
Tegan

Hi Yvette, sorry to hear about your painful health issues at the moment. I suffered pcos after I had my 3 kids and the doctors kept miss diagnosing it at first.
Eating peanuts or any nuts for that matter sent excruciating pains down my side from my gall bladder and yes diet can rectify some of the problems.
Many people who have pcos suffer with low progesterone which can lead to all sorts of problems but I guess your doctor would be checking and treating you for that.

Hello Yvette and welcome to the forum.

I hope you are feeling better after all you've been through lately.

I would encourage you to have a very good read of the  home page as there is a great deal of information there to help you get started. There are tools to help you set goals and set up exercise and food diaries if you feel this will help. Also articles on tips for healthy eating and you will find recipes as well. In the forum itself there are challenges and diaries you can join in with too.

We can help you with support and motivation when you need it so don't be afraid to sing out if you have any questions.

I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey. :D

Hi Yvette,
I am the same weight as yourself and I am 157cms tall
I have 2 children, and I guess was slimmer when I fell pregnant. I have a weightloss group and in it I have a lady who also has PCOS. She and her husband have been trying to have a baby for many years.

I do a gallbladder cleanse twice a year. It's quite gross... lots of empsom salts and olive oil, but WOW.. when you see what comes out of you it's quite remarkable. People think that gallstones only come out on Xrays but that's not it at all, they have to calcify to do that, and many of them don't.
This cleanse I do, is 100% safe, and is done using every day household foods. If you are interested, please let me know, however it may be a case of shutting the gate after the horse has bolted. Oh well, PM me if you want the recipe, I would be happy to forward it to you.
Kind Regards
Liv

Heya

Heya Yvette!

Welcome to the site ^.^ I'm new too pretty much lol.

Mm wish you the best in luck in your weightloss goals here and hope a baby is in your future.

With depression there's many options or tools you can use lol I'm sure you'd probably know them by now if in counselling ^.^;; they sorta repeat them alot lol. But to me one of the biggest lifesavers was guided imagery even if you might feel silly listening to some person rattle on for 15 minutes its amazing how it changes your day. I do it everyday now ^.^ De-stresses and calms your mind from all those racing or depressed thoughts. Just remember that the future gets better k, no matter what don't think how you feel now is whats forever as it will get better I promise just don't give up.

Exercise, cognitive thinking, proper sleep patterns, support of some form and opposite action are good ways also for the Depression.

Take care alrighty and all the best
