The Journey Begins!

Postby TiNkErBeL » Tue Nov 23, 2010 7:28 pm

Hi :)

A little bit about me -

I'm getting married end of next year. I've been heavy as long as I can remember... In high school, I weighed 120kg. When I met my fiance I was at the lightest i've ever been since i was a child at 82kg. My weight has yo-yo'd all my life and I have never managed to maintain a healthy weight.

I now weigh 100.6kg and have decided its now or never.... if I cant loose weight for something as important as my wedding... I will always look back and regret it.

So here we go :) I have one year to get down to the weight I would like to be for my wedding which is 75kg. Although, ideally I would love to be 70kg...

I have 25.6kg to loose by October next year. So heres the run down.

Current Weight: 100.6kg (23/11/10)
Goal Weight: 75kg (by 1/10/11)

Goodluck everyone! I hope that these forums will help me get through my journey.

Hi and Welcome Tinkerbel

Might be a good idea to break it down into a series of smaller goals, like 96kg by the end of this year, 92 by end of January. 88 end of February etc etc ... breaking it down into smaller chunks will make it less intimidating.

If you have a plan - you can do it!

End of March - 119kg - 118.7 - made it!

End of April - 115kg
End of May - 111kg
End of June - 107kg
End of July - 103kg
End of August - 99kg
End of September - 95kg
End of October - 91kg
End of year - 81kg TARGET WEIGHT - Optimistic

Thank you for your reply brendan.
I will have to draw up smaller goals, thats a great idea. It does seem a bit overwhelming when i look at it as a whole.
The following is my plan -

25/12/10 - 95kg
25/01/11 - 90kg
25/02/11 - 86kg
25/03/11 - 83kg
25/04/11 - 80kg
25/05/11 - 78kg
25/06/11 - 76kg
25/07/11 - 74kg<----"1kg below my goal weight"
25/08/11 - 72kg
25/09/11 - 70kg <---- My "dream" weight

I know from previous weight loss that the closer i got to my goal, the harder it got to loose the weight, so being realistic, ive made allowances for that in my plan.

Welcome to the forum Tinkerbell!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

Congratulations on the engagement, weddings are always a good incentive to drop kgs, for the bride and the guests (have to fit into the! ah  )

One thing I have read and noticed with my own experience, extending from what brendan said, is that if you break down the weightloss into not only little weight goals, but also little "other" goals, like my first "other" goal is to increase my experience by one day every 3 weeks, and then when i finish that i have to be able to run to work from the train station (2.5km) and then it is to be able to run a fun run series in february, and then in 12 months time i will be running the melbourne marathon!!! so those little exercise and weight goals give you an overall picture, just in case the scales breakdown for a week (isnt that always the excuse when they dont tell you what you want, that their broken :P )
