Hello - trying again

Hi everyone. I'm trying in earnest to lose weight. I did lose 17 kg a few years ago, but put a couple back on. Really need to get rid of the fat before I get much older. This site looks like it has some really supportive people on it. Think I'll need all your help guys!
I'm already walking an hour each day and going to Curves 3 times a week but haven't seen much change.
BTW - if anyone's in the Morisset area in NSW and wants a walking buddy - I'm your girl. Thanks everyone. And good luck to all of you.

Welcome sammi70, you'll find lots of good support here on the forum.

A question about curves , how do you find it is it really hard or ok for someone new to cardiovascular exercise.I was thinking of trying my local one :D

curves is a womans gym :) its not in all states though i dont think.

my name is kate- der you can see my username! I live on the other side of the lake to you! Im at summerland point. have you changed your eating habits too? sometimes diet alone doesnt show results as quickly as a change in exercise plus diet combined.

Yes, you're right - Curves is a ladies only gym. They do have them in SA for sure (one of my clients owns one).
I'm finding it very beneficial as far as toning goes but don't think you will lose weight but Curving.
Slimmin down - you can work out as hard or as gently as you like and they can modify exercises if you have injuries or bad back/knees etc. At the one I go to, we have all age groups working out at the same time.

Thanks for explaining that.
I thought at first it was like a Fernwood, but it sounds a lot gentler than a Fernwood gym.

Well done on your previous weightloss it sure isn't an easy thing to do.

Join in wherever you are comfortable. You will find challenges and diaries here as well as all the great info on the home page too.
