hi.. noobie here :)

Postby bbella » Wed Nov 01, 2006 8:12 pm

hi... My names Bella , im 21yrs old , QLD university student and weight 95kgs. :(

I have recently gained a lot of weight after getting married. Ive been married for 1year and 9months and in that time have gained 20 kilos.

I have tried some diet, but nothing worked, i just kept going up..up and up!

now im sick of it, i use to wear a size 12 and now im 16-18:( I feel like now over my uni break i will try my best to lose as much weight as i can.

i want to try the Carb-Lite diet, which is a powder drink. Has anyone else tried it and does it work? does anyone have any tips to lose 20kgs in 3 months?

Thankyou

Bella

Hello Bella and welcome to the forum.

I don't know what the carb-lite diet is but if it is anything like the Tony Ferguson (TF) plan then there are a few people on that here with good results. Find out what works best for you and also check if it has a maintenance plan as well so you don't just put the weight back on after.

Most weightloss and health professionals recommend 1/2 to 1 kilo per week for weightloss, so you can work it from there or just see how you go.

All the best on your weightloss journey. :D

Hi there bella

welcome

best wishes for your weightloss journey. i have heard of shake programs like the amcal chemist one and tony ferguson. they are lo carb ones :) they seem to work well. i am sorta following the same principals of tony ferguson with the low carbs but without the expense of the shakes, but you need to find something that works for you. as kim said half a kilo to a kilo a week is recommended but you never know, you might lose that 20 kilos before 3 months is over. just stay help and sensible and you will get there :)

im 21 too and have been engaged for well over 2 years lol. better plan a wedding at some stage. congrats on the marriage too :)

best wishes and i look forward to seeing you around!

Hey Bella!

As was mentioned already - 0.5-1kg a week loss is a good aim. If you lose weight too fast you run the risks of
a) putting it all back on once you start eating "normally"
b) ending up with loose flabby skin because you didn't tone it up!

So I'd recommend doing lots of exercise to accompany your weight loss, and to try maybe spend half the time on one of these shake programs (never heard of the one you mentioned, but I know OptiFast is recommended by a lot of doctors, you can buy it at the chemist) to kick start your loss, while exercising as well, and then spend the second half of your holidays concentrating on making healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.. you don't want to lose 20kg every summer only to put it back on during the year!

I wish you the best of luck, its certainly possible to lose 10-15kg in the 3 months if you put heaps of effort in.. you will definitely notice the difference, and will be at goal soon after!

Good luck! :D
