I've been reading through some posts over the last 24 hours and have decided to bite the bullet and join in.
I'm a few days short of my 64th birthday and we're talking of retirement at the end of the year, hence the nick.
My weight's gradually crept up over the years and, although I've had 2 great successes with weight loss - 1 about 25 years ago (84 down to 70K) and the other 8 years ago(100 down to 80K) - the weight has been allowed to creep back on.
Now that we're retiring and talking about a foreign trip next year I feel I need to get fit so I can:
1. Sit in one of those little plane seats comfortably
2 enjoy my holiday and not spend it worrying about how ridiculous I look climbing hills, swimming, dancing etc - with my fat red face
3. prevent the onset of diabetes, hypertension and other weight related conditions. I'm not on any meds now
As you can see I am full of negative self talk about my body image. This is something I'm working on because even when I was young and 57K I felt fat

I actually started on the 20th Feb but have had 2 weekends away and have had friends over a couple of nights last weekend so have only lost 3K.
Start weight 101.5
wt today 89.5
Goal weight 57K (and I wont think I'm fat this time, nor will I worry too much about excess skin which I wont be able to afford to have surgery for)
Ht 155cm
Wt loss plan
Breakfast - porridge and fresh juice
Lunch optifast bar
Dinner optifast drink
2L water/day minimum
I'm not too keen on veggies so have a cold press juicer which I use for my veggie juice
Plan is to lose weight till the end of June then to go onto a sensible eating plan
Enough for now...off to get a ticker and work my way around the site
