New Lifestyle Change

Postby Alex &Tony » Sun Jan 06, 2013 8:55 pm

Hi all

We are new to this forum. I say we has myself and my partner will be using this forum.
We have decided that in the new year we would change our lifestyle and get healthier, fitter and most importantly lighter!

We have done 4 or 5 of the fad diets and have successfully lost weight but rebounded due to the rapid loss and the unrealistic lifestyle of them.

This time we are not dieting we are changing our eating habits. We are basically going with the paleo diet. Basically all our shopping will be at the fruit and vege shop and a butcher, also local markets.

We have also joined a gym with Personal Trainers to get us started.

A bit about ourselves

My name is Tony. I am 98kg and 5ft 11
I am very active playing sport 3 nights a week which I play at state level.

My partners name is Alex, she is just heavier than me and 6 ft tall
She has not been as active as me but she is getting there.

Our goal is to lose 1kg a week for six months. Our incentive is that if we can reach our goal we will go for a holiday overseas and a new wardrobe!

So that is some basic information about us. We have come to this site as you are all probably aware that there is so many negative people that will tell you that you can't do it. We have joined to share our stories and get as much information as we can

Thanks Alex &Tony

Of course you can do it. Don't listen to the negatives and strive to get out there and prove them wrong. :D

Good luck with your journeys! It will be a great benefit to have someone holding you accountable so close to home.

Don't listen to people saying you can't, if people try to bring you down, remember, they're basically saying you're standing higher than they are,
people shouldn't tell you you can't, while you're actually doing it , while they aren't.
Everyone, I say everyone, even people with "bad genetics" , can get in the shape they want, with the right dedication and right motivation.
Set yourself small goals, like for Tony: go for 95 kg's, then give yourself a present like a massage, haircut,...
after that go for the 90 kg (note: I've been stuck for two weeks at 92,5 kg so don't be disappointed, you're gaining a lot of muscle as well, REMEMBER THAT! :) )
Just keep doing mini goals 'till you have reached your ending goal, and when you've reached that , point yourself a maximum weight, and diet again and sport again until you're again at your -i'm at perfect weight- zone
Keep up the progress.
Kevin.

Welcome Alex and Tony

Doing this together will be a great help and will go a long way to getting you the success that you want. Your plan looks solid and there is no reason why you should fail.

I for one am telling you that you CAN do it. If I can - then anyone can. The main battle isn't diet, exercise or negative people...it is what happens in your head. Those who believe they can, can and those who believe they can't, can't. This forum is great at helping people realise that they indeed can do it and encouraging them through the dark times.

Wishing you the best in your lifestyle journeys

Hey guys so just a quick update

Myself (Tony) have lost 3.5kgs in 3 weeks and my partner has lost 6kg

I am pretty happy with my loss but I just have to remember I may not lose as much weight as I think due to the weight program with my personal trainer

Will keep you posted :D
