Hi Bec, welcome to our happy liffle group. I agree with Serena, seeing that you've a young family you'd probably be better off picking up some exercise DVD's from K-Mart or even hire some from the nearest video store to test run which ones you'd like to later buy.
Alternatively sitting on a lounge chair with your legs over the arm of the chair and doing some crunches (20 at a time until you get used to them) is a good way to start.
If you have a sunken room in your house, you could also do step-ups (great for the calves)
and if you have a couple of cans of in your pantry you could use these as weights and do a few bicep curls.
